There are two must-visit restaurants in Playa Cocles (frankly, in Puerto Viejo and the entire Caribbean Costa Rican coast), Pecora Nera and this fine establishment very nearby. Both have their own distinct flair and identity. For fine dining and Italian/Tuscan food, journey to Pecora Nera....But don't push aside an opportunity to go to this incredible Argentinian steak house. This place served me the best top quality and seasoned and grilled New York Strip I have ever had. The owner and chef has carefully selected each cut of meat, and the care in selection, preparation, and grilling is immediately obvious even before you take your first slice with the knife. Accompanying the meat is the best in simplicity and flavor - a well-seasoned pile of french fries and a top selection of greens and veg comprising a great side salad, with oil and vinegar to dress it. My wife also had fries and a side salad accompanying her double bacon cheeseburger, as she said "the best burger she'd ever had." Absolutely no frills but the epitomy of top quality ingredients and preparation. To drink, she and I selected and shared a terrific bottle of Argentinian red wine. In addition, the meal was prepared precisely as we requested - "medium" was exactly right on both accounts. The service was friendly and knowledgeable. The setting was near beachfront with calming nature sounds and quiet music filling the room. All of this for about $65, an absolute steal. Pecora Nera has received some incredible reviews, but please, folks, do not overlook a visit here for dinner. This place could easily produce a Michelin star, and its simple charm, kind service, and reliance on high quality ingredients and preparation are the reason.More
Argentinean restaurant that bakes its breads and other delicatessens in their bakery on premise. For the first time during my 2 week stay in Limon, I have ZERO complaints and ONLY positive things to say: Food was delicious (we ordered breakfast), service was very fast...and knowledgeable, the restaurant is right on a beautiful beach, prices are very great and command very high value given the quality of the food. None of the places that I visited during my time in Limon come close to El Rincon Porteno. Go visit!More
Went for lunch on a Tuesday. Burger, fries and some wine. Delicious! Great location, right on the road and on the beach. Very accessible. Will be a go-again spot for me, as I am in the Caribe for several weeks.
I love this place! Been here twice already on our vacation. Excellent food, high premium ingredients, and nice portions! Good price aswell. The tuna steak was to die for.. don't miss it! And my steak sandwich also excellent!

I have been here several times. It is one of the best restaurants I have been to in all of Puerto Viejo. Lovely atmosphere for wine drinking and great dinner. You can't go wrong here!
