Stopped for lunch and had Dave’s Santa Fe Bowl with rice. Tasted great and very healthy! The desserts look yummy and the Cherry Pie is piled high with cherries! Was able to go home with a jar of Bacon Marmalade and Pickled Grapes which are...both my favourites! Love the artistic flair throughout and you can go home with original art as well! Definitely coming back for more!More

Not always easy to find a toddler-friendly restaurant but the Sydenham Country Cafe is one. Of course, the service was great as was the food. But the best part was the safe patio with a runway for our 2-year-old.

Just popped in for a quick lunch and wanted to write a review about a great experience I had. This lovely restaurant has great vegetarian options and their pizza was fresh and delicious. Highly recommended for a quick healthy lunch and friendly service.

Stopped in for lunch on a Sunday. Had the four cheese grilled cheese and the smoked turkey with Swiss and both were delicious. Good quality food, great little cafe!

We stopped in at the Sydenham Country Cafe for ice cream and were very pleased. Not a large selection but they were very generous with the amount of ice cream on each cone. They also have a nice menu selection to choose from and the...lady who served us was quite pleasant. We will definitely be stopping here to try out some of their many options.More

I visited the cafe today and loved the blueberry squares! Definitely the best I’ve ever had; a cake-like texture but still small enough to be the perfect snack. I’ll definitely be back for more of these squares!

I am about to expose Sydenham’s best kept secret. And I hope this expose only means this little gem of a place continues to thrive and enhance the thriving community where I live and work. The Sydenham Country Café opened a little over a year...ago on Rutledge Road, in a small plaza on the edge of town. Right off, you can’t help but notice the café’s quaintness; not just the that the windows are trimmed in wood shutters and the patio in farm fencing, but the minute you walk in you feel a sense of small town charm. Everything in this little café is genuine and homey, and I don’t mean just the food …which I’ll get to… but the décor is all local art depicting the country, the furnishings are barnwood, the TV monitor flashes snapshots of people enjoying the country lifestyle, and the chalkboard menus lining the wall speak of homestyle goodness. There are shelves too stocked with gifty treats made on the premises and by other local food artisans - honey, hot sauce, jams, pickles, maple products, and fudge. Even with the Covid protocols in place, the few tables inside and on the patio are inviting. On my first visit I was able to dine outside, but now I use the online ordering which is always available and the drive thru window open all day. Owners Peggy and Dave Hallett are the workforce behind this enterprise. The space was empty for some years, and Peggy often tried to start a café here, putting her culinary expertise from catering to the test. Dave obviously loves woodworking and even his new roadside sign is crafty and not an eyesore. I find the service friendly and pretty quick considering this is not fast food, it’s fresh food. Chatting with Peggy easily makes me understand why she “loves feeding people”. Her words. The recipes are from her large family growing up, as well as many she has learned from favourite TV chefs, and plenty of experimentation and research. I had her best selling Turkey Swiss Melt Sandwich includes her signature bacon marmalade, which she sells by the jar too. The sandwiches come in meal deals with great sides such as soups made from scratch! salads, homefries, and baked beans. My daughters like the fajitas, protein bowls and smoothies. The take home dinners ( Thai Stir Fry is my favourite, Jambalaya is a close second) come in a dinner deal with salad, bread and dessert. Next on my list is to try the new stone-baked pizza that is ready in minutes. Becoming a little bakery was never in the original plan Peggy told me. What was supposed to be just a small offering of butter tarts and carrot cake has turned into one of the biggest attractions of the place. She and her team offer up pie, decadent brownies, jumbo cookies, GF options, fudge, cheesecake cups, and four kinds of cake in loaf style (I love this). Orders for birthdays are popular. Perhaps my favourite thing about the Country Café is the quality and value; the prices are reasonable and I know I’m getting real food made with little preservatives or additives made locally At the café they are very conscious too of packaging and keep it to a minimum, no styrofoam, …and even using fettuccine noodles for coffee stir stix! My only negative take away is that they aren’t open on Sundays, but I hear that after the lockdown this might change. So take a drive to Sydenham and check out the Sydenham Country Café. The website has all the details for online ordering, and even allows you to choose the pickup time. But better yet, pop in to have a look at this little shop of country flavour.More

You have to try the pizzas at Sydenham Country Cafe. The Deluxe has a really good sauce and a good amount of cheese, and the Pear and Brie pizza is a sweeter - perfect for dessert. Their crusts are really good too. I highly recommend...both. I know we’ll be repeat customers. CatherineMore

Great entrees for my mom, plentiful and tasty. Designed for 2 meals but gave extra servings. All labeled and easy to put together. Prompt service to the door. Next time will order ready-to-heat soups, all freshly made, no additives or preservatives. Love supporting local business!

Hi Sydenham café i was in your store this past week. i am all about supporting local & wish to do so the best i can that is why i choose your store over subway. however i received a large mushroom soup and when i...received it it was very very watered down and had very little taste. but the worst of it was when i received it it was between luke warm & cool. i had to ask the girl to put it back in the microwave. witch whatever fine. but then i asked for a plain sandwich on a bun & when i got it and went to my vehicle i opened it and it was covered in toppings. so then i went back in and asked the lady to remake it with nothing on it once again. then i was told you where all out of the good buns and if i wanted a new sandwich it would be a 10 minute wait and would have to be on plain brown bread if i still wanted it. so there i waited and when i revived the new sandwich that wasn't what i previously wanted nor paid for. i had to pay 17.00 + my tip and was not offer any money back for this. i have given your establishment many opportunity's and second chances and i will have to say i will not be back. you have so much potential but with mediocre food it just cant be done it just cant be done like this Thank youMore
