Fabulous home-made buffet. Continously added to the smorgasbord, so that the freshness was kept and as little as possible would be spoiled. Long wait in line, but well worth time spent.

Everything served at this great place is from the closed-loop biodynamic farm. Everything is home grown from the grains and flour in the bread, the grass and hay for the happy pigs and calves on your plate, and the milk in the handmade cheese. A great dinner and a great story. The four course dinner was great. The scallops were... More

Visited from London for a friend's wedding. Decided to stay at the hotel for the night and had high expectations of the place. I was very disappointed, mainly with the service and the attitude of the staff. No one greeted the group of us that had arrived from the UK that day. No smiles or even "hello". My room was... More

While waiting for the ferry in Trelleborg we had the opportunity to eat at Ängavallen, probably the best ecological restaurant in Sweden. The five cource meal was great, with the veil sausage and cheese plat as the high points. The cheese plate could be a little bigger, you want more of the fantastic cheeses! The wine paring is a must.

Had Sunday brunch with the family. The selection of dishes on offer was OK but nothing sensational. The owner/manager was quite rude to his staff when telling them what to do and how to do things. The staff were perfectly behaved and there was no need for the arogance he was showing them. It seems like many guests were returning... More

We had a company event in the restaurant and usually this is not the time when you enjoy best service and food. To my big surprise the service, the kindness and the hospitality of the whole team was absolutely amazing. Everything topped with a beautiful location, very good food and perfect weather.

A stop for lunch at their cafe. A little cozy place with a food shop and a couple of tables. The service was awesome and the quality of the food was of a high quality. Absolutely fantastic, a very positive surprise. Will come back :-)

Visited Their well known restaurant for a Sunday brunch for celebrating a birthday. The service was really poor, the waiter forgot our wine twice, the water was almost lukewarm and nothing was done when we mentioned it. The food is great and the surroundings beautiful and it is great to see how their animals live, but the lack of service... More

...we were actually only looking for a easy- to-get-to and nice sleep over after a day on the ferry from Sasnitz to Trelleborg and our Kid had liked the Pigs on Ängavallens website..., so,... we didn´t come with great expectations. But we did leave with a great smile on our faces: the "Pigs´Hotel" turned out to be one of the... More

At Ängavallen living organically from farm to fork is neither strange nor new. We've been doing it for decades and it simply entails recognizing that the natural environment is a wonderfully balanced, robust and sustainable whole. In 2008 we won White Guides 'Best ecological restaurant in Sweden".
