I have not eaten fish and chips in over 20 years as always found it too greasy. My friend challenged me to try some with him which i reluctantly agreed to. Well this was a game changer!!! Fabulous, very tasty cod and chips. The chips were amazing! Crisp, dry, cooked to perfection. Guessing they were double fried?! No shiny, greasy, oil soaked chips. Highly recommended. The fish was very tasty and the batter was light and fluffy. I am completely converted, never thought fish and chips was made like this. My new regular takeaway. Thank you ....

We entered this fish and chip shop after 1.30pm on a Friday lunch time and, as we were the last customers, the owner had to prepare our order of haddock and chips from scratch. We had to wait for about 25 minutes but it certainly was worth it. The fish, in particular, was absolutely delicious - probably the best we have ever tasted. We shall be down to Hurstpierpoint in the future as our daughter and family are moving there and it will be a real pleasure to head back to this particular establishment (almost a good reason to buy a house there).

As good as all the reviews. Fish is of very good quality, and the batter mix is a lovely colour when cooked. Regular sized cod is a bit on the small side, I'd call it small. I'd recommend large cod. Large chips will do two people however. If you can, call in and order, it is far quicker to get your supper than phoning. If I could make one suggestion it would be to give customers a receipt after payment which they could produce when their order is ready. I was asked what I'd ordered to prove I was the person who had ordered only fifteen minutes before, in person.

I had read the reviews but the reality was even better. The chips were tasty and beautifully cooked , the batter on the fish was super crispy and nothing greasy about them. The grand children enjoyed their equally delicious jumbo batters sausage and my son was a fan of the curry sauce. The mushy peas were also delicious.

Still the best. Our family have been regulars here since they opened. We come down from Cambridge to Hurst a few times a year to stay with family and always get fish and chips from here. Outstanding every time. Never fails to be fresh. Great selection of fish. You won’t regret eating food from here.

Had a takeaway lunch from Crossways for the family last week and this was as good as any fish and chips we have ever had. Fresh white fish, crispy batter and golden chips. Hot and tasty. Wish we had a shop as good as this near where we live. Highly recommended.

Camping in the local and wanted a take away. A fish and chip van turned up to the site but didn’t look to appealing. We visited cross roads. Amazing fish and chip and excellent portion size. Thank you

We always love the fish and chips from Crossways,
Lovely clean, well managed and friendly shop.
I think even more convenient now you can just ring through your order and given a pick-up time. I did see on my last visit they are now also doing walk in shop orders too, just one in the shop at a time.

We ordered fish (one gluten-free), chips, mushy peas and saveloy. All delicious - fresh fish, crispy batter not greasy - chips crunchy and beautifully cooked. Highly recommend especially if gluten-free ( only available Tuesday and Wednesday) - happy customer

We had a friend visit from Surrey this evening and pre-ordered for delivery.
The fish and chips and halloumi and chips were excellent ,so good our friend asked us to write this review as he thoroughly enjoyed his meal.

I came here at just before 8pm on a Saturday (I didn’t realise at the time they were just closing) but they were extremely pleasant when I walked in, happily served me and the food was very yummy. Brilliant customer service and fantastic food. I will definitely be returning and recommending to all. Thank you!
