This place has been open for longer than I’ve been alive, and it’s easy to see from the quality of their baked goods why it has stood the rest of time. The lineup from locals and tourists alike also speaks volumes.
They only allow 2 separate paying customers outside of the same party to be in the shop at a time. They had two staff taking orders, which helped the line move quickly.
I purchased their signature sticky buns and Muskoka clouds (tender fruity scones), as well as a couple of butter tarts. The sticky buns were still warm and soft with a lovely caramelized and sticky exterior that wasn’t overly sweet. The Muskoka clouds were also delicious, with a tartness from the berries that helped to balance out some of the sugar dusted on the tops of the scones.
Highly recommend stopping here if you’re in the area. They also have another location in Huntsville which accommodates more people in the shop at a time.

I object to the previous review about waiting to be served. These are far from "normal times". Everyone should be aware that there are staff shortages and as a result the service will be slower than usual. This is an outstanding bakery with phenomenal baked goods and they certainly do not deserve a bad review. Their bread, baked goods, cakes, sandwiches are outstanding and the community should be supporting them! Bravo to the owner for her response. Most of us do appreciate all of your hard work and dedication and hope to continue to enjoy your products and your great service.

We love their bread twists with seeds, cheese and bacon. This Fall we tried their turkey sandwich on focaccia with brie, YUMMY! We have been going here for years. Nice to get some fresh treats before entering the park.

the baked goods were OK - we did not find it as good as everyone raves. We got some bread, I forget what it was because there were sold out of French and Italian breads. We did not finish it because it had a burnt taste to it. We bought 4 other kinds of pasties which were good, but not spectacular

Henrietta's was our go to breakfast place. Kids loved it, and so did the parents. The line up to get in was slow, about 30 min. We found it was worth the wait. The baked goods were delicious and fairly large. Coffee was great. Once inside, service was great. Highly recommend if you have the patience to wait to get in.

Unbelievably good pies and breads. Went just after mid day and selection significantly less than early morning so get up and go if you want a choice. Queuing system poor with minimal space in the shop. Service friendly but slow which put a damper on the visit

Lost the quality. My family has been going to the bakery in Dwight for years, and it has always been spectacular, long lines and with good reason. All of a sudden, this year everything we buy is sorta disgusting, undercooked and tastes like raw dough. The sticky buns have really dropped in quality, they are nearly inedible honestly. We also go some strudel which was barely cooked and this super strange coffee cake that was burnt on the top, raw in the centre. It’s shameful what’s happened to this treasure.

We came here and picked up some snacks for the cottage weekend. The staff is nice. The desserts are good - lemon curd tart was very good, the belgium almond cake was good, the lamington and sticky bun was very good. Worth trying.

We've picked up sandwiches and pastries at Henrietta's many times. The turkey cranberry brie sandwich is the best, but all are great. Best to go early as they do seem to sell out later in the day.

Went in for a couple of sweet treats and were not disappointed. My daughter had a Cinnamon Crunch Donut, and I had an Apple Beignet they were both delicious 😋
It was very busy, but we didn't have to wait long, and the lady that served us was lovely, really friendly.
From what we witnessed while in the bakery, all the staff seemed super helpful and very patient while customers made their choices. Which is no mean feat as everything in the cabinets, both sweet and savoury, looked scrumptious.
Definitely recommended for a happy tummy .

I travelled through Algonquin just after pretty much everything had closed. Finding this place was wonderful. Glorious food and free coffee! Friendly and efficient service.

I understand that there is a staff shortage, but it took more than 27 minutes to serve 2 people while there was a line up of 5 people outside in the cold. They say they rhink their quality is worth the wait, but inconsiderate treatment of customers doesn't override quality.

I question your phrase of "poor service"
If one of our shop attendants was rude to you I can understand your comment.
I understand the frustration of waiting in line for half an hour ,as I have done the same waiting in line to get into a supermarket and then wait half an hour in line at the back of the store for a cashier, this is the reality of present times.
Some customers come and buy a loaf of bread so they're out in minutes.Others may spend $150.00 on an order which takes time to package up and the slicing of bread.All customers are greatly appreciated whether it's a large or small order. A lot of the time we have people in for the first time and everything has to be explained to them, thus taking up precious time, nonetheless we have time for everyone.(good service!}
To come to the staff shortage ,let me explain .
I try to have three staff members on at a time, two in front and one at the back for phone orders and slicing of bread, up until recently this worked.However one of our members is a retired teacher and was called back to the school as there is a shortage of teachers, so our loss and short staffed again.
We have also been staff challenged in the production side of things, at present I'm happy if I get 4 hours of sleep a day as I simply can't find people to work.
In the end, it's not the success of a business but simply trying to keep our heads up the water, our sales have dropped significantly because of the restrictions imposed upon us.
To see a one bubble rating really is" questionable" seems to make all our efforts in vain ,but then I see ALL the 5 bubble reviews ......
