We have been to sol you mar 4 years ago and wanted to make sure we didn't miss it when we returned this year. We had the seafood soup which was incredible! Sea bass kimberley (which is really Mahi mahi) was also very good and different from what other restaurants are serving. Service was excellent.....family run business. Highly recommend!

Very quaint place friendly staff. Had the fish soup which was very good full of all sorts of fish. Very tasty not too salty. The Mahi Mahi was very good in a caper olive oil sauce. The hearts of palm salad was quite filling. The tres Leche cake was outstanding. A definite good find.

nice local restaurant in the center of a small village ( Potrero ) . Really good kitchen . The chef has some very interesting sauces he uses with his dishes . Has a bar and wine . When ever I have guests visiting we have dinner there at least once .

My husband loves this little soda/restaurant. His favorite, sopa de mariscos c/arroz blanco, I prefer the casado con pescado. The food is simple, fresh, in general good quality for the price. The service a little bit slow but the staff friendly and sincere. We'll definitely dinne there next time with go to Potrero.

i liked this place. the fish had a saucy presentation. an american couple who spends 3 months annually in the area told me it is their favorite. the chef, while a local, used to work at a French restaurant thus the sauces have a French twist.

We were looking around the Potrero area for someone that served Cordon Blue and we were told that Sol Y Mar did and it was good. So we went with friends Sat. night. Well three of us had the Cordon Blue and one had the seafood and rice. OMG!!! This was the BEST Cordon Blue I've ever tasted. So much... More

This was a repeat visit to Sol Y Mar. We had eaten there several years ago. We were not disappointed. Typical Costa Rican fare, fresh, homemade and tasty. Rice, chicken, beans, plantain etc. all made with love by the owner. Our server ( the owner's daughter) speaks good English and is able to answer our questions as we had a... More

We went to this restaurant at least once a day. Always great food at good prices. We tried all the places mentioned on here, but Sol y Mar always delivered. It's family owned and they are super friendly. My picky 3 year old also loved this restaurant. He ate the burgers, the typical food, and drank all the fruit smoothies.... More

We went here twice while we were staying in Potrero/Pacific Heights...it was delicious. Great, non-touristy feel. Good food, friendly service. Enjoyed watching chickens and iguanas next door while we ate.
