1. Queue No. It's almost certain that you would have to wait, regardless of the time of the day. So get a queue number before you do other things, like viewing the Taipei 101. You can always check where you are in the queue by...scanning the QR code. If you miss the queue number, simply come back and wait later- the wait should be relatively short. 2. Food We have always enjoyed the food at DTF, so there's nothing surprising here, except that the food comes out faster than we are used to. 3. Service The service here is excellent. The staff take the initiative to pass some serviettes to you when needed, and refill the hot tea. They are also efficiently and polite at the same time.More

This branch is always busy so get ready to wait. Worth it! Suggest avoiding weekends or peak mealtimes. I went on a Tuesday at around 13:20. Waiting time was around 80 minutes. I got my table in about 75 minutes. Pretty accurate on the estimate!...Get a ticket and wait for your number to be called. Apparently you can order your food whilst waiting but to be honest, just order when you are seated as it comes out quickly. There is a dine in section or you can take your order away. Dine in for the full experience. The restaurant is huge as is the menu! Basic and clean. As I said food comes out quickly. Staff are pleasant and friendly. Service was good. I was one person so couldn't order a lot. Highly recommend if you are with others, then order loads of different things for a better variety. Some of the dishes you can only find at the Taiwan branches so worth looking out for these. Not cheap but worth a treat! I am Muslim. If you are as well or a pure vegetarian, then let the staff know as a lot of the dishes have pork in the broth. They can adjust the dish accordingly where possible. I had the Green Squash and Shrimp Xiaolongbao. The Xiaolongbao is a signature dish. You could choose 5 or 10 pieces. I had 5. My god they were good. Light, refreshing and tasty. They melted in my mouth. I could have had another 5! The waitress suggested when I asked her as I wanted something light with it to go for some vegetables. She recommended the Stir-Fried Amaranth Greens with Yuba. So good. You can again choose your portion size. The small was big! They will bring the food out as and when it is ready so start eating as soon as your first dish arrives. Despite how busy they were, the food comes quickly and you will eat fast as you will be starving after waiting for a table! Staff don't rush you. Take your bill and pay at the counter when you have finished. The selection on the menu is just so big from soups to noodles, rice dishes, buns, dumplings and more. Enjoy. As I said, for me it was difficult as one person but order a load if you are with others! One thing, if you get a ticket and wait for your table, when your table is ready then make sure all members of your party are there to be seated. If you miss your table number being called, then they will try and allocate you one as soon as they can. Just bring a book or listen to music, sit and wait. The one hour and twenty odd minutes I waited went quickly. There is free WIFI in Taipei 101 that you can connect to. The restaurant doesn't have WIFi but you can get a weak signal from Taipei 101.More

This a VERY popular restaurant in the lower level of Taipei 101 Tower. Despite the fact that it's quite vast inside, to avoid huge queues they have a waiting list, with numbers on a board and an estimated waiting time to be seated. When we...went it was 2 hours! Our group managed to get one of their large private dining rooms, but still the wait time was 25 minutes. The food of various steamed dumplings is simply excellent - pork, chicken, fish, crab, vegetable etc + black tea + egg fried rice + soup + appetisers. The kitchen is glass-fronted/ open, so you can watch them making the thousands of littlre dumplings. Excellent food, excellent service and a real spectacle. Highly recommended.More

We had a spectacular lunch here on our first day in Taipei. We had to wait but amused ourselves by shopping! They kindly seated us when we returned. EVERYTHING we ate was superb but especially the fried rice - made just like my father in...law used to make it... what a treat - the soup dumplings are indeed spectacular. DEFINITELY a place to go...More

This Taipei 101 Din Tai Fung location was packed by the time I recieved my waitlist number and I ended up waiting 70 minutes (about the time listed on the queue). I have been to many other Din Tai Fung locations in Taipei and have...ordered to-go from this location on previous visits, however this time, I wanted to dine in. My main waiter was (English name) Elvis, and his service and the rest of the staff was excellent. I left something behind anmy meal d Elvis rushed it to me while I was at the check-out. While in line, I pre-ordered and one by one, my lunch came out, and everything was delicious. Recommend to order: Xiao Long Bao, Spicy Shrimp & Pork Dumplings Drunken Chicken Since Taipei 101 is a busy destination, the wait time is long on some days but it helps you build up an appetite. I love the food here and the service makes it special. Thank you, Elvis!More

Having been to many DTFs, this was definitely the worst one. Very limited vegetarian options and the food in general was average and skippble. We had a reservation and yet had to wait almost an hour.

We had dinner here and really enjoyed some of the food and really disliked some of the food. The chicken xiao long bao were really good and we ordered more of them. The fried rice was good as well. We had a peanut noodle dish...that none of us could even eat. We also had the custard steamed buns and the flavour was good but the custard was weirdly chalky. We would return in the future but would just stick with the xiao long bao.More

We had been to DingTaiFeng in a couple of its California locations, all are good. But we hear the original DTF in Taipei is the best, so here we are. Visiting Taipei for a week and this is a top must-try. We came around 4:30p...and waited about 10min, not bad at all. Once we got a number we were handed the menu with order sheet so by the time we got seated it was only a few minutes and steaming XLBs arrived at our table. We ordered two steamers of pork XLB, one crab, chili sauce shrimp dumplings, spicy cucumber appetizer, and a couple of desserts. Everything was delicious! The XLB was juicy and tender, yep tasted better than CA's, specifically the pork tasted better. My favorite was the chili sauce shrimp dumplings. dumpling skin was smooth and thin, chili sauce is not overly spicy either, very flavorful. The staff was attentive, waiters and waitresses were constantly checking on our table, removing empty plates, refilling tea, taking additional orders, etc. This location has three floors, general seatings are along narrow hallway, plus private rooms for large parties. Even though space is limited, I find their process and service super efficient without making guests feel rushed. We had a delicious meal and a great experience here. If you're a XLB lover, highly recommended.More

We waited two hours, for a party of four. The staff is nice and the inside is nice, however the food was just ok. We ordered lots of stuff. Veggie and mushroom dumpling, shrimp cake was pretty good. Shrimp fried rice was rated second in...our group. Our friends said that the chicken ones were pretty good and they even put a little chick showing that they are chicken.More

My husband and I stopped here for dinner on our first night in Taipei. It was a busy Friday evening, so we had to wait for a table, but the system for getting people into seats was very efficient. We liked being able to pre-order...our food while we waited, so when we sat down, the order went in and food started to come out. The Xiaolongbao were delicious, as was the cold kao fu and thr vegetable egg fried rice. The mushroom dumplings and mushroom buns were good, but we would have liked more flavor. The staff was very attentive; there was a slight miscommunication about our drink order, but when we brought it to their attention, it was immediately and graciously fixed.More

Taipei 101, tallest building in Taiwan, is a great location for Din Tai Fung, one of Taipei's best-known culinary enterprises. The restaurant and cuisine are traditional Chinese; relatively simple, but consistently high quality. It's an extremely popular brand. It's best known for the delicious shao...lung bao; dumplings full of broth, that are said to have originated in Shanghai.. Service is first class, get there early if you can.More
