You can dine in or get takeout at Din Tai Fung, and since it was a long wait to get a table, I chose the takeout option. I had a great customer service experience with Monica. who was very patient and friendly. I ordered the Pork Soup Dumplings, they were 10 for $220 NTD, and they were delicious! Note that this is a Michelin one-star restaurant, and was on my list to dine at prior to arriving in Taiwan, as such, I highly recommend.

My wife dragged me all the way across Taipei to eat here and I am glad she did. This place has to be experienced. The food is healthy and satisfying - a bit pricy, but not extravagant. The restaurant has more than one branch so if one if full, you may be sent down the street to the other branch for faster service. They will give you a menu and order sheet to fill in while you wait so that by the time you reach your table, your food is being cooked. These folks know how to generate value per seat! The staff are terrific - all spoke English with me, Japanese with my Japanese wife. There are vegetarian options, but the pork and shrimp buns are to die for. Will certainly return on my next trip to Taipei.

Although the wait was 90 mins, it was worth it and you can shop or eat other food in the B1 food court before getting called to enter the restaurant. This Dingtaifung is huge with seating for over 200 to 300 I think. We had staff in our corner that could speak Japanese, English, Taiwanese, Chinese etc. Most of the staff were lovely ladies. The XiaoLongBaos were of course excellent. Our favorite dishes in order of best to meh were the spicy cucumbers, xiao long baos, pork fried rice (just so delicious), dumplings, Dan Dan noodles and then the red bean xiao long Bao.

We visited their branch in Taipei 101 and there are so many people lining up in order to get in. We waited patiently and so glad we did. The food is superb, the service of their staff is excellent, they are very attentive to our needs and very fast. The cooking staff in the kitchen are very clean and tidy, they have a glass window kitchen where you can view how they prepare their dumplings! This is a must try!

The quality of food is high and we really enjoyed it. But beware, there are very few choices for vegetarians and so you need to tell them in advance and specify cooking oil as well. Even after my friend secured a spot 1 hour before our reservation, we still ended up waiting another 20 minutes to be finally ushered in. Food quality is top notch ! wish they had more vegetarian choices though.

We were there on Saturday, the notice board showed 85 minutes wait, so we took a number and do a little bit shopping around the area. However, we got lost and returned to the restaurant approximately 10 minutes after the requested time. I saw our number had passed, so I approached the front desk and explained to our situation, she just asked us to wait for another 10 minutes for the next table. Initially I was a bit hesitant about the quality of the food and service because this is a very busy restaurant but we walked as 5 stars satisfied customer! Great food and Excellent service.

With many branches all over the world, is Din Tai Fung is really that good? We headed for Taipei to check out their Xiao Long Bao. Din Tai Fung, Taipei 101 branch accepts reservations for tour groups only with everyone on a first come, first serve basis. Ambience: Outside the restaurant the excitement grows and the large crowds of friends and family gathered. The queue zigzag back and forth in front of the store with a ling wait. We had a short wait of 15 minutes. We were a tour group. Once inside the restaurant, the atmosphere was calmer as diners concentrate on ordering the large variety of dim sum menu. The decor is basically white walls and ceilings with recessed lighting and naturally wood paneling. It represents a professional atmosphere and clean look. Food & Beverage: The tour group has a pre-set menu included (1) Tofu & Seaweed Salad, (2) Sweet & Sour Soup, (3)Spicy Wonton, (4) Xiao Long Bao, (5) Fish Dumpling, (6) Shrimp Dumpling, (7) Vegetable Dumpling, (8) Fried Egg Fried Rice, (9) Chopped Pea Shoots, and (10) Red Bean Dessert Dumpling. Xiao Ling Bao lived up to its reputation. The dumpling skin was delicate and thin with the 18 pinch folds trademark. Delicious soup inside the dumpling and the meat was tasty. The were sufficient dishes for the vegetarian in the crowd. Vegetable Dumpling was excellent and tasty. Since our party was 16 in our tour group, we had several pots of tea as well as boiled water. Service: Once everyone was seated, the procession of the dim sum came out so fast and the lazy Susie serving table was spinning even faster, one blink of an eye and the food passed you by. So the only picture I was able to get was the world famous Xiao Long Bao. The servers would announce the dish aloud. The severs came around frequently to refill the teapots. While the Hong Kong branch of Din Tai Fung was awarded the Michelin star, the Taipei 101 branch had good quality control and standards. So many varieties of dumplings it was like a DUMPLING DEPOT ... at Din Tai Fung (Taipei 101 Branch).

Delicious food, especially the buns. A bit pricey for Taipei, but cheap for the mall which is very high-end. Be prepared to wait for a while as it is always crowded, but they do a great job of moving everything along without making patrons feel rushed. The menu is in English and Chinese and has pictures which helps foreigners. They opened branches in the west coast of USA and hopefully will expand further.

On the plus side, the soup dumplings are one of the best you can ever taste if you're into these kinds of dishes. Food is great! The downside is, you need to queue up to a long line of hungry eaters waiting for their turn. Luckily for us, our booked group tour had a prior reservation with this restaurant, so it didn't take us long to get a seat. Imagine if you're not of those in that group. :(

This is supposed to be one of the best beef noodle, soup dumplings in the city. We got a number around 11:00 am and did not get seated until 12:30. After seated, the service was very fast. We ordered all the typical food. All of them were decent, but I had better. Maybe expectation was too high. Do order the soup dumplings and beef noodle soup. Price is slightly higher that the typical Taiwan restaurant.

For the first time, I celebrate my 45th Birthday dinner at the Din Tai Fung located in the basement level of Taipei 101 Mall with the most delicious and legendary Xiao Long Bao (steamed dumpling) after our seat-in coach City Tour around Taipei. It was our finale tour dinner. The main attraction of the restaurant is the see-through Xiao Long Bao preparation kitchen behind the glass wall and I made a real time vlog through Facebook Live how they carefully prepared each dumpling.

This Taipei 101 Din Tai Fung location was packed by the time I recieved my waitlist number and I ended up waiting 70 minutes (about the time listed on the queue). I have been to many other Din Tai Fung locations in Taipei and have ordered to-go from this location on previous visits, however this time, I wanted to dine in. My main waiter was (English name) Elvis, and his service and the rest of the staff was excellent. I left something behind anmy meal d Elvis rushed it to me while I was at the check-out. While in line, I pre-ordered and one by one, my lunch came out, and everything was delicious. Recommend to order: Xiao Long Bao, Spicy Shrimp & Pork Dumplings Drunken Chicken Since Taipei 101 is a busy destination, the wait time is long on some days but it helps you build up an appetite. I love the food here and the service makes it special. Thank you, Elvis!

We had been to DingTaiFeng in a couple of its California locations, all are good. But we hear the original DTF in Taipei is the best, so here we are. Visiting Taipei for a week and this is a top must-try. We came around 4:30p and waited about 10min, not bad at all. Once we got a number we were handed the menu with order sheet so by the time we got seated it was only a few minutes and steaming XLBs arrived at our table. We ordered two steamers of pork XLB, one crab, chili sauce shrimp dumplings, spicy cucumber appetizer, and a couple of desserts. Everything was delicious! The XLB was juicy and tender, yep tasted better than CA's, specifically the pork tasted better. My favorite was the chili sauce shrimp dumplings. dumpling skin was smooth and thin, chili sauce is not overly spicy either, very flavorful. The staff was attentive, waiters and waitresses were constantly checking on our table, removing empty plates, refilling tea, taking additional orders, etc. This location has three floors, general seatings are along narrow hallway, plus private rooms for large parties. Even though space is limited, I find their process and service super efficient without making guests feel rushed. We had a delicious meal and a great experience here. If you're a XLB lover, highly recommended.

This was indeed one of the best meals we had in Taipei. From start to finish, service and food was nothing but great. We expected a long wait, but their system is so efficient which makes it not so bad. We ordered a little bit of everything, highly recommend sharing everything. Prices were so reasonable, and please note they only take cash. The highlight of our meal was the spicy wontons. The wonton meat was perfectly seasoned and that sauce was exceptional. I had spicy wontons at many places before, but this place makes it the best in my opinion. The sauce is not super spicy either, so don’t worry for those that are not into spicy food. Its just a small light kick of spice. We also got the soup dumplings (crab and pork), pork chop, the dry noodles, and the shrimp dumpling. Everything was really good, not one dish I dislike. Service here was great too, staff spoke good English.

We find the tastes and flavours of the dishes rather bland and too subtle for our liking. A good range of different dishes though. If we don't fancy their famous Xiao Loong Bau, then we should not have gone. People queue for hours to get in but time it well to wait minutes. Excellent presentation of the dishes and quality, fresh dishes.
