Looking for a place for lunch halfway between Mayo and Dublin. Can't recommend Weirs Pub more highly. Just a 5 minute drive off M4 is well worth it for the gorgeous meandering country road which opens into the quaint Irish village of Multyfarnham.
Upon entering the beautiful stone walled pub, it's owner Pat greeted us and guided us to our table. The welcome and genuine interest in our trip was refreshing.
We enjoyed a 3 course meal of outstanding quality. The signature chicken fillet stuffed with chestnut and apricot was deemed the best chicken dish one of our party had ever enjoyed! The tempura fish n chips was so crispy with beautiful fresh fish inside. The tagliatelle was also gorgeous.
The dessert selection was superb, many home made by Una.
Coffee was excellent too...and I'm fussy about my coffee!!
We would definitely return here. Worth the little detour for sure!

I was In Multyfarnham for the weekend, and had meals on the three days in Weirs. All 3 meals were superb - perfectly cooked and full of flavour. A wonderfully balanced menu, with a choice for all palates. Pat and Una were helpful and great for local knowledge. On the second evening they were fully booked, and they cooked my meal and I was able to have it at the cottage - this meal was to the same high standard as the restaurant.

Myself and my mother were there for lunch today, and I have to say the quality of food and service was just lovely.
Our waitress was relaxed and welcoming, provided all our requests, the food was delicious, and much improved from my own visit last year. We had chowder, steak and tagatellie, and for dessert the last biscof cheesecake and coffee and mother had the chardonnay.
Midweek the price was a little on the high end. Which was my only deduction.
Pretty happy otherwise. 😊
Thank you. Worth the visit, will call again.

We booked our table for a group of 6 individuals and when we informed the lady booking us in that it was for some people with an intellectual disability she offered the “ snuggle “ and then rang us back to say if anyone was in a wheelchair they wouldn’t be able to “ squeeze “ us in . Food was nice but the waitress staff looked miserable working there. The manager/ owner was very unprofessional- he was outlining a contract to a new recruit and it could all be overheard especially when he asked her “ did you sign it “ When we went to pay the poor girl on the register wasn’t able to work the till accordingly and was under so much pressure so we said we would leave her to try work it out .When we later asked the manager to pay individually he was very rude saying that it would be impossible as it was too busy on a Sunday and we should have informed them we would be paying individually . Don’t think we will ever return as it is only suitable if you are paying as a group and the manager/ owner quite intimidating- felt so sorry for the staff there as they were doing their best .

Lovely afternoon dinner with my family. Busy place, roaring turf fire (smell was divine) attentive waiting staff, large menu but also traditional sunday roast dinners.
Table of 10 efficiently dealt with. Nothing forgotton, everything available. Even a suprise birthday sing along was a lovely touch 🎂
Great food, good staff and a fine place for all occasions. Thank you to Pat and staff

Absolutely fabulous food. Crispy potato skins and bacon - delicious. Roast beef that melted in your mouth (sourced from Tipperary we were told). Open fire. friendly staff.

This is an excellent spot to detour for food on the Dublin trip it’s 5mins off the N4 and there’s two roads you can take going in one and out the other. The food is great and the hospitality is second to none with great chat and fun with the owners and the staff. Highly recommended for the atmosphere, the food, and the staff, it only adds 10 minutes to the journey and definitely well worth it as I don’t think there is anywhere else on the route between Dublin and Carrick on Shannon Shannon that you will receive the same level of attention and food quality.

We had a really great time in Weirs last weekend for my birthday and wedding anniversary. The minute we arrived outside we knew it was going to a great experience, everything is so well kept and looked very welcoming, beautiful fresh flowers everywhere and everything was spotless. We were really well looked after by the staff who were all in great form and lovely and friendly. The lovely owner/manager popped by too to make sure we had everything we needed. The food was so fresh and everything was delicious, the kids demolished everything and said they had the best chips in the world!!!! The staff came out with a lovely birthday plate for me and also write happy anniversary on it too and sang happy birthday too, so thoughtful. Felt very special indeed! 5 star experience, fair play guys, we’ll defo be telling our friends and family to visit 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

We visited Weirs Sunday 28 May 2023. I cannot rave about the food and service we received here enough. We both had roast beef dinners and I cannot emphasize enough the flavor of this beef and I am a chicken lover. It was moist, melted in the mouth, but the flavor was amazing, as was the homemade yorkshire puddings. Himself had his fav bread and butter pudding and it was delicious, I ordered Eton Mess and I can honestly say with my hand on my heart it was the best I have ever had. This place and its food reignited my love for homecooked food. The hosts were fab also as was the staff.

Had a wonderful meal at Weirs with some friends this evening. Food was absolutely delicious and Pat made sure there wasn’t a single onion anywhere near my plate!
The bread and butter pudding is genuinely one of the best desserts I have ever had.
If you’re in the area you should definitely drop in!

An amazing little restaurant tucked into the village of Multy. Been many times and never disappoints! The potato skins or chicken wings are a must as a starter and couldn’t recommend a specific main or dessert as they are all delicious in their own way. Family run business that go out of their way to ensure you enjoy your meal

I happened to be in the area and wanted something Substantial. Ordered the chicken wings. They were roasting hot, falling off the bone and delicious! The waitress after my asking for a recommendation suggested the pan fried chicken, stuffed with apricots and green beans, covered with a creamy mushroom sauce….yum. Nothing was too much trouble and Pat the owner came to say hello and gave a great welcome as he did to all who came that lunchtime. The new outdoor dining area was comfortable and colourful. My only complaint was that I hadn’t left enough room for pudding!! Weirs is a great place, and the staff are a credit to the place. Can’t wait to get back!

Visiting Weirs was an unexpected treat added to our vacation. The food was by far the most delicious meal of my trip, with a Hake and chorizo dish I won’t soon forget. We had the pleasure of showing up on a Friday where we were treated to live music from the owner and locals from the town. Within Multyfarnham, Weirs is located in a community so welcoming you would have met everyone by the end of the night. The owner is happy to give you recommendations on unique/ non-touristy places to visit in and around town. Weirs is a wonderful place to addition to anyone’s trip.

Having received a gift voucher for Christmas from a family member, we decided to call up today and pay a visit to this charming place. Only 30 minutes away from us in Cavan, and a really beautiful drive. From the outside, the pub is very attractive but not at all imposing or pretentious. We had made a reservation, which we were glad of, as there was a constant and steady stream of families out for Sunday lunch. We selected simple meals from the menu, a tagliatelle and a beef burger, but WOW was that the best burger I've had in a long time. I had to wrestle the fork away from my husband to try and get a taste of his lovely food :). If you find yourself looking for somewhere nice, comfortable but with fantastic food, then I highly recommend WEIR'S of Multyfarnham. Plenty of parking, relaxed atmosphere and food that will definitely keep you coming back for more.
