We walked here and unfortunately found out the business has closed down and it is now an apartment. Just thought I'd let people know. Lovely walks though

My daughter and I had a late lunch/early dinner at this restaurant in mid-may 2016 and really enjoyed it! I had the lamb stew (very flavorful and really hot!) and my daughter had a salmon plate. There was a local music event during our lunch so we listened to some young musicians sing and play piano. Very low key vibe... More

We ate here on a tip from the bar man at our hotel. A little café with great food. The service was good and our waitress gave us a list of some of her favorite places to see in northern Iceland. She was spot on. Hraunfossar is a must see water fall. We spent a full day driving to most... More

In our trips to Iceland in 2014 and 2016, we ate all of our dinners at Altafoss Cafe while staying at lovely Minna-Mosfell Guesthouse nearby. The dinners were always delicious, moderately priced, with welcoming service. It sometimes took time for the food to be served, or to be told that a dish was not available.

Smoked salmon as starter was great. Unfortunately lamb and fish were finished and we choosed pork for main course which was not the best choice.

You find the cafe in a small area just outside Mosfellsbær, a good place to visit, with a knife maker workshop, art sales and wool sale. The cafe has become more a restaurant, with outdoor seating in summer, and art exhibition in the very nice venue inside. The place is located to the right of the main road just before... More

The owner and chef Thomas was an amazing guy. It felt like such a personal service from choosing the main, dessert and wine. He talked us through it all and made great recommendations as to what to have. We went for the Duck with lentils and Shrimp Spaghetti. They were generous portions and delicious. I highly reccommend this place for... More

Had a simple but beautifully presented and exquisite-tasting dinner here. Great lamb dish and shrimp with spaghetti, both with Mediterranean favors.
