The unicorn was great before, a little pretentious though. Now it's more down to earth, with super service, very friendly. And the food was fabulous.

The food is very good, cooked perfectly and well presented. Just one very small thing - the mushy peas were more of a green juice with very few peas and a very small quantity as well. But for this, the food would have been given an excellent rating. Pity, because everything else was great from the very friendly staff, efficient... More

We booked a table for 2:30pm on Mothering Sunday, unfortunately they did not seat us down until 40 mins after the booking however this was due to the previous guests lack of punctuality. Thankfully we had some nice drinks and the staff were very apologetic, once seated everything was delicious! Seriously yummy food, really flavourful and great ambience. Served by... More

Sadly the Unicorn is now under new management. We visited on Sunday expecting the usual menu which was not the case. This is not to say that the new owners did not serve a pleasant enough Sunday lunch, but as a fan of the previous menu I'm sorry to say that we left somewhat disappointed that one of our favourite... Equidistant venue for mid-week dinner with friends. Relaxed atmosphere with quirky touches. Chipolata honey mustard starter and sticky toffee pudding dessert were particular favourites. Great service - pitched just right!

We have been regular sunday lunch customers and have always had a very good meal. We went for lunch today and were thoroughly disappointed... Perhaps it is since the change of ownership? We had to wait 15 minutes for our vegetables to arrive after our beef had been served (by which point our beef and potatoes were no longer hot).... More

We dropped in here at the end of a long day, unable to face the thought of cooking at home! It's a nice pub, friendly, good service, nice food, but nothing out of the ordinary. My partner is gluten free and nothing on the menu suited. However, they were helpful to "mix and match" to find a tasty combination she... More

We had stopped to have a spot of lunch. The Unicorn on the outside looks nothing special and none of us had any expectations but as soon as we walked through the door we were given a warm welcome. Indeed the service throughout was a lesson to behold. We had a dog - no problem. Coffee served properly with home... More

Good atmosphere but don't expect to settle in for the evening & order dinner. I assume if we had wanted to stay longer at our table we would have had to have left for booked diners. Would have been nice to know before attempting to order dinner.

Katie and I arrived here, as usual, without booking a table first. Luckily the wonderful staff there managed to squeeze us in. If we haad arrived a bit later I do not think wewould haave got in. And we soon found out why, from arrival to departure we found nothing to complain about. The food was freshly cooked when ordered... More
