My scallops & black pudding were cooked perfectly & very tasty but unfortunately my moules marinere was terrible, bland, tiny dry frozen mussels, barely any sauce and with chopped peppers which do not belong in the dish in the first place Boyfriends fish soup was just ok, pretty bland. His main course of lobster was a huge disappointment because they... More

Right in the middle of West Lulworth on the way down to the cove, with huge olive trees outside, and usually a board advertising that they offer whole local lobster. The menu isn't cheap, but it's local (lobsters/hand-dived scallops/jurassic bacon etc), and well presented by cheery staff-- you may even get a joke or two from the boss. Breakfasts are... More

We stopped for lunch on a bank holiday. There was only one other table but we were made to feel like a burden on their time. Some basic friendliness wouldn't go amiss. The food was fine. Nothing special and probably a bit overpriced for what it was. They even charged for tap water because we were told they "bottle it".

Nice location with good decor. Stopped for Tea and cake. After a bit of a reluctant start the chap behind the desk was friendly and helpful, although did explain it had been a very busy day (Easter Sunday) so cake choice limited and hot chocolate for my wife and youngest son seemed to be a bit of a struggle, not... We were welcomed at this restaurant. Very friendly and efflcient staff. I would recommend this as a pleasant place to eat. The food is good but not excellent so I would recommend them to do more options including vegetarian and vegan options. One person in our group is a vegan so she could only eat chips! Could they consider thick... More

We went to this restaurant on a Friday night, there was no atmosphere at all and the whole place looked bare and cold, we ordered Jumbo Cod and Chips, it was NOT jumbo just an average size piece of fish in batter, the batter was not cooked properly and the chips were skinny french fries and not many of them,... Fantastic dinner in a quaint restaurant with great quality food, good wine, excellent service & a menu of local produce. Had a perfect evening, probably mostly due to the company, but the food in this little restaurant was excellent. The scallops were huge & cooked just right with a sauce that complimented perfectly. Mussels, with no cream in the sauce... More

Really enjoyed the food at the Bishop, which was local, well presented and tasty. The restaurant itself also has a nice ambiance and the staff were very friendly, if not in need with some familiarisation with the menu. Atmosphere slightly spoilt by some very rude fellow diners, however on the whole a very good experience.

We've never had to return a plate of food however for the first time at Bishops we had to. The welcome, was frost bitten to say the least, much like the food!! The atmosphere was non existent and staff seemed untrained and lacking in knowledge. It is a beautiful building however really need to be honest with clientele about menu... More

Well all seemed very nice, but think twice.... Customer Service was non existent. Dining etiquette - not there and food very average. My wife's stew was warmed in the microwave - we heard the dinger go off! All very twee menus but to be honest they have a long way go to improve the customer dining experience and the food... More
