I would not visit this hotel again, we were visiting Lulworth Cove on holiday and when we saw the sign for Cream Teas we entered. We asked to have them served in the garden - the seat cushions were wet and the garden full of rubbish and swimming pool chemical tubs. When the cream tea arrived the tea was cold... More

This sounds unlike our unusual service and performance. I do not remember the day or the instance but it sounds as if it had been raining and maybe windy when stuff can get blown around a bit by the coast. I note the writer said that they asked for their cream teas in the garden by the pool. We specifically... More

My wife & I spent the last week at Lulworth Cove & passed Bishops most days so couldn't help ourselves from admiring their menu. Whilst the reviews on Tripadviser were mixed, we read with interest how well the new chef was rated. And after an outstanding meal on Wednesday night, we can confirm that Bishops should be at the top... More

A well pleased international diner is a compliment. Thank you. This year we have put a lot of effort into the dining experience, so it is good to see it is paying off More

Exceptionally good food - everything from wonderful beef to imaginative seafood. By far the best place to eat at Lulworth Cove, and for such high quality meals, not too expensive.

Recently acquired a new chef who has proved to be a great asset. Having eaten here previously when it was rather disappointing I can only say now it is really good. Recommended

We only had time for tea but the staff at Bishops were very welcoming and relaxed. Just what we needed at 17:00 on a Sunday afternoon. The cream tea was excellent.

We were looking for somewhere to have tea, coffee and a piece of cake. On checking the menu which was displayed next to the road, we found Dorset apple cake and cream teas listed, so we went in to order some. The place looked nice but was deserted. We waited and then were about to walk out when a man... More

I do not recall the exact instance. But we serve lunch at lunchtime - 12 to 3pm - cream teas most of the afternoon but finish at 6 pm. and dinner from 7 pm onwards. It may well be that we were not serving because we were out of scones or cream. A review from someone who has not even... More

My wife daughter & I popped in for a bite to eat, the Spanish waitress was very good indeed. All three main meals were very good tune sandwich, crab salad & a fish & chips. We followed with 3 cream teas. My wife & daughter were made up with their Pyms as it was crammed full of exotic fruits. You... More

Unhelpful manager. When we complained about the size of the cod the manager said it was a large portion. Which it was clearly not. Very quite restaurant. Unbelievable that that toilet are outside. Not sure how people cope in bad weather. Also there is only one toilet so women and men have to share. Not pleasant for the ladies.

Only one veg option, risotto, cooked from scratch so it took a while, topped with a whole cheese, perfect and as it should be. The home made fish cakes were delicious, the tarte citroen...ooo the pastry! lovely meal, great waitress

We were staying in Lulworth for a couple of nights and fancied Bishops for seafood. Nice welcome from Tim, but from then on it didn't meet our expectations of a reasonably well run restaurant. For pre dinner drinks in the bar we couldn't have the Bombay Sapphire or Pernod due to almost empty bottles, which we were shown. So it... More
