We have recently held our eldest daughter's wedding at Ballathie House Hotel which was a wonderful weekend for our many friends who travelled far and wide to spend the weekend in Perthshire. Ballathie did us proud, the food was superb and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. It was magical weekend and we are extremely grateful to Ballathie... More

We have been there twice with different couples for Sunday lunch. Hopefully we will visit again soon. Both times our meals were delicious. The first time we also had coffee outside in the grounds and the setting is gorgeous. Well worth it!

Located in a fabulous estate bordering the River Tay, this restaurant on consecutive nights gave me perhaps the best two meals I have ever eaten! Chef is proud of using local, seasonal produce where possible and succeeded beyond any reasonable expectation with both the selection of food and the cooking and presentation of it. The setting of the restaurant in... More

We had been given a present of afternoon tea at Ballathie. We can thoroughly recommend this. Rather than being an afternoon tea it was really a meal in itself. We went there quite late in the afternoon and did not need to eat anything else in the evening. The food and variety was absolutely first class. Nothing could be faulted... More

This lovely country house hotel is in an idyllic spot right on the banks of the river Tay and is a perfect spot for lunch. The food was fresh, tasty and delightfully presented. We visited mid week and it was a shame that we were the only ones in the restaurant however this did not stop us thoroughly enjoying our... More

Ballathie House is not a spot the traveller will stumble upon. Its setting above the silvery Tay is well worth the trouble to follow the well signed route. The restaurant is on the formal side, and better for it. No baseball caps or football shirts here. Quality is all around.

We ate the restaurant on numerous occasions over our wedding weekend. The food was fantastic full of flavour and mostly local products. Every bite was mouth watering.
