We were lucky enough to eat two dinners and a breakfast in the El Tovar dining room during a recent stay. First, the service is impeccable. The food is mostly regional fare and delicious. I had bass one night and pork the next. Both were wonderful. At breakfast my eggs were absolutely as ordered. That's a rarity. The room decor and... More

You're in the Grand Canyon and may never be back so go ahead and splurge! While this restaurant may be on the expensive side it is well worth it. The atmosphere is rustic and warm. Every table was full and the wonderful energy of the other diners made for a very pleasant dining experience. The food, drinks, and service were... More

We walked the rim of the canyon and stopped here for lunch. The lodge it self was beautiful including the dining room, which was very formal. But our waiter was slow which made our experience disappointing. We enjoyed the food, but the selection for lunch was limited and I felt over priced. If you can plan ahead I would suggest... More

We had breakfast and dinner here, and both were fantastic! The breakfast cinnamon roll was probably the best I've ever had! For dinner, reservations are required in advance. We had the prime rib and lamb shank. Both were fabulous! The desserts are also beautiful and delicious! There are also great canyon views from the dining room. While this is a... More

Lunch was fantastic there after really working up and appitite walking up the trails alongside the canyon. The lodge is very rustic looking and very elegant at the same time. All the food that came to the tables looked delicious, but all i could do is speak for my own meal.I had this salad that was so delicious, and my boyfriend had the... More

We had dinner at El Tovar and it was good, not extraordinary. The service was attentive and friendly. After reading reviews our expectations might have been a little too high. For a National Park restaurant it certainly excels. We would definitely eat there again and there us no better choice in the area.

Call far in advance for a reservation and ask for a table on the back of the dining room along the windows facing the canyon. It is beautiful to watch the sun set from your dining table. Unfortunately, we didn't get one of those tables but enjoyed the beautifully historic and HUGE dining room. The menu was OK (very traditional... More

Love the views, murals, ceilings, large log walls. Felt well-preserved from another era. Food was good, as was service. Really enjoyed the polenta pancakes for breakfast. Reservations required for dinner. Make in advance, if possible.
