After a full day of meetings, I met two colleagues for a business dinner at Shi-Yang Tea House. The location/setting is hidden in the high mountain and the Japanese theme dinner is ~3Hr (6-9pm). Excellent service and attention from the moment we arrived at the...More

We booked tea tasting followed by dinner and it was a lovely experience from beginning to end. We arrived around 4pm in the afternoon after a mazy climb up the mountain. We were given a short tour of the beautiful zen like building and then...More

食養山房is not the easiest to get to but it is definitely worth the trouble. You cannot help but calm down because you are part of a Zen still-life. The exquisite dishes remind me of Kyoto kaiseki. Check out their website for reservation and transportation information.

I will recommend friends to visit before sun-set as once after 6pm, it's too dark and what a shame if you can enjoy the environment and have a cup of tea viewing the nice garden. Individual room (though no air con) still very comfortable. I...More
