stayed at the Baron for 3 nights b/b and also booked the restaurant for 3 evenings meals. Excellent inn with beautiful rooms all decorated to a high standard and all different. Breakfast included all the usual fruit juices/cereals/full english/salmon tea/coffee and toast. Cooked lovely. Loved the restaurant with the mill wheel as part of it. Good selection of starters/mains and... More

The atmosphere is really warm and welcoming, Phil & Debs and the team always make you feel welcome. The views from from the conservatory are stunning, looking out onto the Mynd a part of the Shropshire Hills area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. I am happy to call the Baron my local pub. There are so many beautiful walks to be... More

This is a very good inn. It is tucked away at the foot of a hill in a quiet village. One of the the few places where the rooms look the same as the pictures. The bed was very big and comfy. The inn was very clean and the breakfast delicious. The inn has to live up to a lot... More

We enjoyed a lovely dinner at this pub- which we have visited many times over the past 20 years. Varied menu - fish and chips was very tasty, as was the poached salmon. Desserts were delicious too. Friendly staff and efficient service- what more could one ask?

We booked a table for evening food during the Easter weekend. The service was good and the food tasty and well presented. There are menu choices for vegetarians and vegans.

Heading to the depths of Shropshire late on a Friday night, we suddenly realised that all the local eateries seemed to stop serving at 20:30. So we rushed into The Baron a few minutes past this cut off and were thankfully welcomed into the busy restaurant. Obviously a local favourite, it really did feel like a truly family run establishment.... More

Nice pub/restaurant with an expansive garden and campsite feel to the additional lodgings. Could not fault the food, and the rooms are well equiped but seem almost corporate for our tastes, as we prefer something more personal and individual. That said and done, very clean and nicely finished.

Thank you for your review. I'm glad you enjoyed the food and thought the rooms were clean and nicely finished. I'm a little surprised you felt the rooms were almost corporate. Each room does have similar facilities, furniture and is equipped to similar standards. Rooms are individually decorated and have local art and photographs and are all available to view... More

Although we live locally, we had never tried the food here and were impressed. There was a decent range - we had sea bass, pizzas and fish and chips - and the service was good. They also had some nice non-alcoholic drinks options for drivers. The addition of the old cider press and wheel inside added to the atmosphere.
