A quaint restaurant with delicious food and a big hospitality

For any business owner who wants to know what makes customers want to come back to your business place, other than good product, it's smile and sincerity. You could learn from these guys at Common's Crêperie. Treat your customers like they are the most important people, give them sincere suggestions, heartwarming smile, and be their friends. My experience visiting business places in this city has been hit or miss. There are time I feel like I'm treated like a beggar, trying too hard to win the heart of the service provider (be that a store owner, a restaurant server, or a cashier) and sometimes still no luck and receive no smile back when I am actually the one using their service and giving them money. But twice I came to Common's Crêperie, I felt and I saw that each and every diner was welcomed and treated like valued people, never once forgot to smile, and that itself was a high class attitude. First time I came here was in the afternoon, the second in the morning. My picture doesn't do a justice, as I couldn't wait to eat the crepe. But trust me, if you like savoury crepes like me, you might find it hard to decide, as every crepe sounds good. I went with cold smoked salmon the first time which was very delicious, and the next time I came I chose spicy Korean pork crepe. The gentleman (I'm guessing the owner?) said it's his favourite too (how could you not though, it's so yummy). Crepes always come with beverage of your choice and soup. I've had their curry soup and cream of vegetables soup, both are delicious. Portion is just right. I know in some breakfast places you'll get this huge portion of breakfast, but that's not my thing. Moderate portion of nutritious and delicious breakfast or brunch is what you need. You'll feel good without feeling stuffed. The restaurant is nice and cute with local arts that you can buy. It reminds me a lot of local restaurants in Japan: small, cute and unique.

Nice spot set next to Rothesay green. The venue is clean, limited menu with efficient staff. Ideal for a quick brunch or a sandwich.

Not a fan...

I've only been once even though we live nearby. We found the crepes chewy and thick. My meal with eggs, bacon, and a strawberry crepe was served on one plate so the strawberry sauce bled into my eggs, which was not appealing. The bacon seemed like microwave bacon from Costco (which isn't bad, but not what I expect when I go out for breakfast).

We love this place!

A large family gathering with friends for an early evening meal and it was great. There were about 20 of us and we rushed the poor waitress off her feet but she was non plussed and everything was delivered hot and every dish was so nice.

Excellent Crepe! Pretty Good Chicken Green Curry

My crepe with spicy pork was really good! It wasn't really too spicy... The chicken green curry dish was OK - nothing special. Not much chicken and a kind of off flavour. They only had green teabags and a couple of other types - no nice specialty teas. Bummer. Our service was great and the place was quiet and well-kept. I'd go back tomorrow!

Going downhill - I do not recommend

I used to go here for breakfast once a month or so on the weekend but the last 2 trips were very disappointing and I don’t think I will bother going back. The trip a month or 2 ago it looked like the staff just crawled out of bed. I waited over 15 minutes for my coffee and another half hour after that for my breakfast. Most recently the other day again the staff looked like they just got out of bed and there was no coffee made yet. A gentlemen took my order and brought my food very quickly this time. The bacon was cooked in such a way that it was flat as a pancake, which is fine, except for the amount of grease on the bacon and my plate. My toast was soggy as it was soaked in the bacon grease. A lady came and took my plate and I showed her the big puddle of grease on my plate and told her about everything. She went back to the kitchen and was speaking a foreign language so I wasn’t sure what she was saying but then a different lady came out to take my payment and mentioned nothing. I never would have thought I would say this but I will likely go to the Irving Big Stop next time and stop going to this place.

We went for a girl's early supper. Only one other couple were there on a Thursday at 5pm. I think it's way more busy on weekend especially Sunday. I got the ham and cheddar sandwich with curry squash soup. Both were delicious and I would get it again. I got the apple crepe for dessert. The crepe part was very good. It's the traditional very thin folded over type. The apples were raw and still had the peel on. I did not care for that at all. I am used to warm cooked apples in cinnamon and sauce. The top had a caramel drizzle with a scoop of ice cream. The inside was raw apples and nothing else. It made for a dry crepe. I would go again definitely, but maybe try a different crepe. Menu can be found d on the FB page. Prices are reasonable. The service was very friendly.

Best kept secret

Great place to meet with friends for a quiet breakfast. The decor is bright and colorful. The staff is extremely friendly and goes above and beyond. Fantastic breakfast food, I highly recommend this spot.

A good place for a crepe

A few of my friends and I went to here for a breakfast/brunch on a crisp Saturday morning. I built my own savory crepe while she had a gluten free buckwheat ham egg and cheese crepe. Unfortunately a small error on my crepe added baby shrimp instead of baby spinach but it was good none the less! Soup was amazing and we decided to split some dessert crepes. All three crepes (chocolate, autumn apple and lemon) were amazing and fluffy. Only small problem was they were supposed to be gluten free. Food took a little bit too long to come but it was a busy day. Overall great little spot. Just ensure they got your order right!

This place is in a former house, giving it a nice homey feel. Everything is crepes....savory, sweet and they are delicious....well, also try the homemade soups! My experience here was great
