We went there not knowing what was on offer. The staff were friendly and offered us food from the evening menu. Hake! It was delicious. The beer from the local brewery was excellent

Evening stroll to view the Abbey by floodlight. We were seated immediately, ordered at the bar, food arrived quickly served by friendly young staff! Nice relaxed atmosphere and obviously very popular!

Great location by the Abbey. Beautiful setting you cannot beat. Visit often and had wonderful meals there and mediocre over the years. Today was lovely although not a great deal of choice for vegetarians, they seem to have streamlined the menu. Really mushroom burger (large mushroom in a bun, over priced) or a vegetarian tart was the option unless you... More

We went as family to the Anchor Inn for Easter Sunday lunch and it was very good. The food was excellent and the service great. Really helpful and friendly staff too. Knowing it was Easter Sunday we booked well in advance and checked the place out the day before. Glad we did, because what looked like a nice conservatory, turned... More

W tried the café after visiting the abbey. Two coffees, two slices of cake and a Kids box. £18.00!!!!!!!! The ham sandwich my daughter had was not tempting at all and she did not have more than 1 bite. Also the staff seemed quite annoyed to be working on Easter Sunday. If you are in the service sector you need... More

Plenty of room outside on a good day, in Winter you may struggle for a seat. Food served - Lunch menu is well priced and service times are good even when busy. Next to the Abbey, ideal spot to stop at.

We walked from Chepstow to Tintern and stopped at the Anchor Inn before we returned. The place is in a great location with view on the Abbey. The panini was a bit cold in the middle but the soup was super nice. There is also free WiFi and seating outside.

A good pub serving good quality food and beverages with the option of sitting at benches on the lawn with a view of the Abbey towering above you. Very pleasant.

We were gasping for a cup of tea and an ice cream after visiting the abbey and couldn't have been happier with the welcome and the service. Delicious ice creams, too. We'll go back next time for a full meal.

The meal was OK, but took time to appear. Our order was eventually taken (!) and it even took some time to get the bill and pay!

Thank Dave G
