Jugiong is not even a village but has become a junction for great local fresh produce and home made high quality food. A weekday Thursday and Main Street Jugiong is packed as is the recently beautifully restored Sir George Hotel. The lunch menu is small but offers good variety. We three women ordered the crisp and yummy zucchini fritters, Pulled... More

One of the owners commented to is that they wanted to create a place that people on the Melbourne to Sydney or vice-versa trek would stop off at. They accomplished that in spades. From refurbishing the old hotel whilst maintaining its character, to creating a menu for grazing or more hearty desires served in a cosy indoors or inviting alfresco... More

Absolutely fabulous meal. The steak was exquisite and all the salads and dips fresh. Their bread is delicious and obviously freshly baked on the premises. All in all a very classy pub meal. Highly recommended.

Love Jugiong, great place to meet just off the highway Been to the recently renovated pub twice. Beautiful old style pub but it's a shame about the food. It's a real hit and miss, some meals were way over cooked and sides are well below average for price. I wish all the success for the owners but they need to... More

Jugiong , once the speed trap town of your journey along the old Hume Highway is full of history. The Sir George hotel still stands today as it was in the gold ruch days. It has a modern cafe out the back but the interior rooms have been kept as old.worth the stop just of the freeway.

The owners are doing a great job in restoring this old establishment. Modern amenities in a very hold structure, but they've kept the charm. We didn't have a meal, only a coffee and snake. The service was somewhat disheaveled - I'm not sure whether it was trainees, but it was all a little confused. The coffees were good, but if... More

This newly and cleverly restored old hotel is well worth a visit. Besides enjoying the makeover, which retains much of the original nature of the building, the dining is likely to delight. Great atmosphere, especially for family groups, with an entire area for the kids to explore, the adults can enjoy their visit as well. Thoroughly recommend the steaks but... More

Adding to the success of the neighbouring Long Track Pantry, the Sir George is a tastefully restored late 19th C pub and restaurant. Busy so try and book but worth turning up if less than 6 people, it offers local seasonal produce such as artisanal breads, olives and dips with sophisticated main dishes - Head Chef focused on fine dining... We stopped for coffee at the Sir George on our way home to Sydney from a great road trip to Kangaroo Is. A beautifully renovated old building set in a beautiful garden with lawns, a fabulous kitchen garden with herbs, tomatoes etc. There is a lovely little 'potting shed' with great gardening stuff for sale. The lunch menu was fabulous...wish... More
