We have a cottage on beautiful 31 Mile Lake and had hoped that this restaurant would be a much needed amenity because there are really no fine dining alternatives within 50km. Certainly the food is the best within that 50km radius, but that is not...saying much. The prices however are big city. The service, well let me tell you about it. I called for a reservation three days in advance and no response so I boated over and made a reservation in person. When my wife and I arrived for dinner there is no reservation. We are offered an lonely outside table on a rainy 16 degree evening. We postponed our anniversary dinner for our return to the city.More

The food was not even at a level of a road diner and the quality/price is ridiculous. We ordered bruschetta and we were given 2 little pieces of bread that cost us 20$, then we asked for a mixed grilled, which was pork and flank...steak which was so tough that we had to chew it forever and that came with French fries that tasted like they were refried few times - that cost us 40$ - anyway all to say that the bill for each person came up to around $100. The only good things there was the location (restaurant facing a beautiful lake) and the service was good.More

One would never know the effects of the corona virus limitations placed on this property except that the servers were wearing masks, the tables were further apart and the menu was a 'single use' and perhaps slightly limited. In a word, our meals were nothing...short of outstanding. The servers were friendly, and knowledgeable. The visit to the wine cellar alone is worth the visit. A table on the balcony looking at the lake and opposite shore in unspoiled beauty is simply the icing on the cake.More

In 2015, I wrote "Disappointed". We had also been there back in 2017, it was OK, but tried it again last night, after hearing a very favourable report from our daughter and son-in-law from September. Very pleased. The menu has improved to offer more fine...dining choices. We started with the soup, green vegetable cream, very good, nice delicate flavour, garnished with what I think was a red pepper oil with a slight tang to add interest. We shared the guinea fowl terrine. Terrine is a favourite of mine. It came with a relish garnish, pickles, some salad garnish etc. Although it was served with toast rounds we had a basket of baguette bread which I preferred. We both had the duck leg confit. The Sauce had a nice depth and appropriate sweetnes, the meat was moist and tender and accompanied by rice. My husband liked the rice. The rice itself was good, although as a personal taste only, I would have preferred a couple of small roast potatoes or even mashed. The vegetables were a lovely medley, baby bokchoy, carrot, spiralized turnip (I had to ask I couldn't guess) beet and brussel sprout cooked with a sweet buttery glaze, accompanied by a small amount of a mild cheese sauce. My only criticism would be that I personally would have preferred the vegetables with maybe 40 to 50% less sweetness. My husband didn't notice it. On top of the sweet confit on the duck, I found it was a bit overwhelming. All we left on our plates were the bones, Overall we enjoyed our dinner and we enjoyed our evening very much. Yes, it is expensive but we have paid as much and more in Ottawa at 4 and 5 star restaurants. COVID distancing was appropriate, and potocols were excellent. I saw staff not only clean the table, chairs and place mats beside us, between customers, she also cleaned the wall adjacent to the table. Something I wouldn't have even thought about. We will go back.More

My wife and I tried to call this restaurant twice , left messages as to when we wanted to reserve, but received no call back. Nevertheless, we took a chance and arrived at 5 and no seating was left except on the upper level where...we accepted to to sit despite my wife's fear of heights. Seating arrangement was not according to regulations for COVID distancing and I told our server that we were uncomfortable with it but they did not offer to reseat us at a table that was further away from everyone. For appetizer I had a mushroom based one which was OK and my wife had a soup which she thought was good. She had fish for dinner and I had duck breast, a little on the dry side. Dessert was ice cream based. It was an expensive dinner, charging the price of 5* restaurants in the city and its quality and service did not match. I would not recommend this restaurant.More

We have been wanting to go here for some time, as our cottage is nearby. It did not disappoint. The food and service were both excellent. The portions were generous, so save room for dessert.

Four of us dined on a Thursday evening during Covid season. Very happy to experience the same great service, wine and food! We enjoyed the lake trout, mixed grill and chicken parm. The shrimp appetizer in an avacado bowl was awesome - I could have...eaten three of them! Looking forward to our next visit!More

We enjoyed a very pleasant summer dinner at l’Huile d’Olive. It was much better than the last time. Service has always been good, but the dish presentation wasn’t very good in the past. Now food is cooked properly and presented with care and creativity. Servings...are generous so main courses can easily be shared. Yes prices are on the high side but it’s good value and the setting is beautiful.More

My husband and I just returned from staying at the nearby Minitik Inn and got to enjoy this incredible restaurant 5 times. Firstly, it must be said that during these strange Pandemic days, the place felt extremely safe without making you feel uptight. Servers were...wearing masks and eyewear and tables were removed and well spaced. All who entered wore masks unless they were at their table. Ok.. now to fun stuff... the food! Amazing dishes... all super fresh and cooked beautifully! Presented so gorgeously! We took pics of every dish we had. My favourite was a shrimp and scallop dish that the chef served on fresh pasta. The sauce was to die for! Honestly.... I wanted to swim in that bowl!!! Incredibly fresh and flavourful! We counted 10 individual vegetables on my husbands plate along with his beef tenderloin. All cooked perfectly and so so so fresh! We cannot say enough about the great hospitality and hard working wait staff. These girls were busy and seem very happy and are so helpful, we were concerned with only speaking English but they treated us with no concerns. They were helpful and kind and really bent over backwards to allow us such a nice memorable time. Truly the nicest group of staff we have ever met! Kudos to the person who hired them. Gems!!!! The restaurant itself is very comfortable and super well maintained. The view of the lake and the boats passing by make it very special. We only had dessert one night... but when we did enjoy it..we shared a Mars bar wrapped in phyllo dough and baked served with creamy velvety Ice cream...total heaven!!! We will be back for sure!!! Thank you for such lovely memories. We hope you continue to stay open and serve people these fantastic dishes. You are doing an amazing job... EVERYONE!!!!More

Hi Kim, No specific menu but there are many choices of gluten-free on our menu. Yesterday, we had a customer who was intolerant to gluten and he was very satisfied! Thank you very much :)
