This was our first fantastic dining experience in Antigua. Our previous experience at other local establishments was subpar. Stella is a little off the beaten path but is well worth it and exceeded my entire family’s expectations. The staff is attentive, warm and welcoming. Service was top notch (we were able to order drinks immediately and dinner shortly after, unlike the VERY long waits to order and be served that we experienced at other local restaurants!). The menu was authentic Italian and diverse enough to cater to one of my children who vegetarian. Our entrees were amazing and dessert was exceptional. I highly recommend.

5 stars is not enough! Throughout our stay in Antigua we dined at many restaurants and this one was by far our favourite. The food was unbelievable, the view is impeccable, and the owners are such kind, funny, and hospitable people. Stella’s was not just a meal, it was an experience, and if you are coming to Antigua do yourself a favour and dine here!

Pretty venue in an unusual location. We walked from our hotel at the Buccaneer which took 25 mins. During daylight hours there is clearly a stunning view looking out on to the sea from the dining area.
The menu comes on a chalkboard to allow for daily changes. I had the caprese salad to start and my partner the marlin gravalax. The caprese was ok but not up to the Buffalo Mozzarella standard you would find fresh in Italy although I wouldn’t hold it to that standard to be fair. The marlin was very good I’m assured.
For main my partner had the lobster Thermidor which looked and tasted amazing, i had the porcetta with veg (mainly potatoes) which looked great and wasn’t too fatty but it was rather salty.
We had cocktails to start and a bottle of Greco Di Tufo with the meal which took far too long to arrive and we ended up with it after we had received our main meals which was a shame. Service was otherwise attentive from the English joint owner. The wine list is all Italian, primarily Southern Italian and is limited.
Price wise it came to £160 including tip which was reasonable for what we had.

This was our first meal out in Antigua but we were so disappointed with the food. The service was good, very friendly and attentive but at £200 for 3 of us ( no desserts) it was really poor both quality and especially value.
I had the porchetta which I was told had been slow cooked in their wood oven overnight. It was so dry that it was difficult to eat. The lobster pasta was ok but not worth £45.
By comparison we ate at Casa Roots where the food and cocktails were superb and the price was only £30 more and this time we had 3 more cocktails and desserts. Really don’t mind paying if it’s worth it which Stella ‘s wasn’t

Thank you for taking the time to review our restaurant. We are most disappointed that your experience on this occasion did not meet your expectations.
We were particularly sorry to learn that you didn't enjoy the Porchetta. Had you mentioned this to us at the time, we would have happily prepared an alternative dish for you.
Lobster is charged at the Market Price and this does fluctuate. Its fair to say that Barbuda Lobster was in short supply for most of December due to adverse fishing conditions and was consequently priced accordingly.
We have ourselves eaten at the other restaurant you mention many times and find it a little unfair that you compare a French influenced cuisine with that of Italian, as the preparation style, ingredients and portions are entirely different. Having said this, your opinion is noted and we thank you again for your comments.

I went for dinner at Stella’s one evening as part of a family holiday. We were recommended the restaurant by a family that have a place on the island.
The restaurant is set up as a sort of tree house and should give great views out onto the sea unfortunately it was already dark when we got there.
We ordered some cocktails and wine when we arrived which arrived promptly. The cocktails were very good.
The menu appeared to offer authentic Italian fare with a variety of pasta, seafood and meat dishes. Stella, the proprietor was slightly passive aggressive in her welcome and explanation of the menu.
We got a Burrata and a beef carpaccio to start. Having been told the Burrata was flown over from Italy I was sorely disappointed. We received two rather small balls of Burrata with a random assortment of vegetables. The Burrata was so cold that there wasn’t much flavour and was under seasoned (a theme for the evening). The Beef Carpaccio was liberally doused in lemon juice but could have done with some salt and more Parmesan.
We got Pollo Porcini, Spinach and Ricotta and Seafood Pasta for mains. Having asked for some salt, pepper and Parmesan to add to our dishes we were told that “chef has a good hand with the seasoning” and to try the food first. I had tried and what was in front of me was an incredibly bland dish of chicken and mushroom which had no flavour whatsoever. In addition, the mushrooms in my pasta weren’t cleaned properly and I ended up chewing a mouthful of grit.
For dessert we got a Chocolate Mousse, Tiramisu and Ice Cream which were good.
Overall the meal was acceptable but the experience was diminished by the passive aggressive service and the reluctance to provide additional seasoning.
There are better, more authentic Italian restaurants on the island at a comparable price. Save yourself the trip to Stella’s and go somewhere else.

We went for dinner one evening and were not happy. The servers were extremely inattentive and barely seemed to notice us at all. The food was also very subpar and not worth the price we paid. The only redeeming qualities were the super nice bartender and the view from our seats.

Having been to several restaurants in Antigua, Stella stands out from the rest. It's a laid back easy going eaterie with superb food and wonderful staff.
Karen and Flavio, who run the place, have exactly the right balance (for me) between attentiveness and giving guests their own space. The chef, whose name I didn't get, is excellent. Both the pasta on my first visit and the pizza on my second visit were delicious
Martin, who runs the bar, has the ability to check all the tables at once and be there at just the right time if you're running out of drink. An impressive skill!
The lovely lady who took me to my table and checked all was well was a joy. I've forgotten her name, embarrassingly, but I haven't forgotten her infectious laugh and happy smile!
The setting is wonderful, with views over Dickinson bay, although it can be a bit difficult to find. If you're going by taxi make sure the driver knows where it is before you get in the car!
Looking forward to returning next time I'm in Antigua.

We visited this lovely restaurant twice while staying at Siboney. A short cab ride away. The staff who run this place headed up by the Italian chef are very attentive and although the menu is not large the food is delicious and beautifully presented. They also have a good selection of wines. We went in the evening so didn’t benefit from the view , but it’s very pretty at night. It was our favourite place to eat whilst we were there

Great Italian restaurant with stunning views of Dickinson bay. We enjoyed this restaurant so much that we have visited it three times over the last 2 weeks.
Nothing was too much trouble for Karen and her team. My husband ate the spinach and ricotta pasta on two occasions as he enjoyed it so much. We shared the buratta salad every night which was just the right sized portion for two people and they made our daughter various pasta dishes, which were not on the menu. For dessert we had the tiramisu, which was one of the best I have have had.
The selection of wine was great and Karen made an extra special effort when it was my birthday to make it a very enjoyable night.
We will definitely be back next year.

Everything about this restaurant is amazing! The head chef Flavio has created an amazing menu which will delight anyone. Me and my partner have been staying on the island for almost three weeks and have been delighted on every visit from an incredibly delicious main course to one of the best pizzas I’ve had outside Italy.
The hostess Karen is always delightful and very attentive to all needs of the customers and ensures everyone is having an enjoyable evening and was as welcoming on our first meal as she was on our last.
Martin the barman was extremely knowledgeable from his famous Rum Punch (which was the best I had on the island) to recommending wine that pairs perfectly for your dinner!
Shemeke was a delightful waitress who was all very happy to see me and my partner and again always very attentive and very knowledgeable on all dishes on the menu.
I can not recommend this restaurant enough, and if you the views of the setting sun aren’t enough to keep you here, the famous porchetta most definitely will!

This place is outstanding; the food, the service, the owners.
You cannot fault the food at this place, we were on the island for almost three weeks and tried a variety of different places, and honestly, no food even came close to Stella's. The head chef/owner, is a magician in the kitchen and makes flawless meals. The other Co owner is an abolsute delight and will ensure you have the best evening ever at her restaurant.
The bar man, Martin, is a wizard with cocktails, and I highly recommend his rum punch!
All the other staff are just as amazing, making sure you are happy throughout your dining experience here!
Any length of stay you have on the island, make sure you experience this devine place.

Best restaurant on the island! Fantastic Gourmet Italian food prepared by Flavio who is from Italy and his down to earth wife Karen who was such a gracious hostess. They prepared everything to our liking and the food was artistically served with a wonderful presentation. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone traveling to Antigua. Gorgeous views as well !!

We were recommended Stella by Simonetta, the manager at Buccaneer Beach Club and so glad for the recommendation! Stella is a small restaurant, basically an open air deck of a home overlooking Dickenson Bay, with impeccable service and delicious food. It is advised to make a reservation. Also note that parking is difficult so we found it best to just park on the street below.
The menu is wonderful with many choices. The printed menu you get was basic pizza and pasta, but then written on a blackboard is the real menu with all the choices for the day. The owner Karen was our hostess and she thoroughly described each item. My wife and I chose a Seafood Soup with Lobster as a starter and she selected the Lamb shank and I the Lobster Linguine for the main course. Everything was delicious and perfectly prepared. We would have loved to try a dessert but we were way past full by the time we finished our mains.
So many tourist restaurants in Antigua are overpriced and while Stella is not inexpensive, we did not feel it was overpriced. We paid approximately what we would expect for a fine meal in the U.S. but with the advantage of sitting on an open air deck on a perfect evening in Antigua.

I went by Stella last Friday for the re-opening, after a long Covid-19 break.
I have been there often in the past, since I live in Antigua and I know the owners Karen and Flavio, but this time I decided to write a review of this great experience.
The location is great and offers mazing views of the Caribbean sea and its colorful sunsets.
Staff is friendly and the atmosphere is perfect for an intimate dinner, a banquet with friends or just a glass of good wine.
The menu is a rich list of tasty dishes and if you want something different or have some dietary restrictions just ask Karen she will consult with Flavio to make sure you will eat a great meal.
Our meals looked and taste great and also the ones that we saw reaching the other tables...
I spent a great time at Stella and I do not hesitate a second to recommend this place to anyone

Booked at the last minute and given good ( and necessary) instructions, we arrived at Stella's and were delighted to find the setting which seemed like a treehouse above Dickenson Bay. Charming.
We took the owners recommendations of Marlin Gravlax which they cure themselves and Porchetta . I had the seafood linguine. The Marlin was superb, ideally flavoured with the right amount of lemon for our tastes...yummmm . Nick loved the Porchetta which almost fell apart as it was so tender. My linguine was good and a more than plentiful portion.
We finished off with a freshly made chocolate mousse and a tiramasu.
A delicious Italian feast and a great view!
