The Garden Grill is a short walk along the beach from the Lord Nelson Hotel, where we stayed at the beginning and end of our Caribbean adventure. We had lunch there three times, and not just because it was so easy to reach. The staff was friendly and welcoming, the cocktails were refreshing (especially the cucumber one when they had it) and could be sipped with feet in the pool, and the food was flavorful and freshly prepared. We particularly enjoyed the quinoa bowls. There was also lots of holiday spirit and a mix of people from local families to groups of visitors. It was a nice place to while away some time and just relax. Stephanie - we hope you and your kids get to see snow!

Excellent Food Option in Antigua

This was our best food find in Antigua. We first ate there on the only night the restaurant is open - Friday. (They are typically open for lunch). We enjoyed it so much we came back for brunch on Sunday. The environment is comfortable and well kept. We appreciated the farm to table approach. The food my wife and I had as well as my son and wife enjoyed was excellent. The wait staff was considerate and attentive. Rockney, the manager was very friendly and helpful. Finally, the food was much more reasonably priced than other restaurants we frequented while in Anitgua. Net: excellent quality for a fair and reasonable price. We would 100% go back when in Antigua.

Friendly staff and good food - we tried the fish tacos, burgers, a grilled chicken sandwich, which all tasted really good. The only shaky item on the menu was the grilled chicken which lacked seasoning and flavour! Overall a beautiful venue right off the beach and with a pool… perhaps a really good spot to get married or have some other private event.

As a group of friends we have been enjoying garden grill on many occasions over the last year for dinner. Since the restaurant changed ownership a couple of months back the hands on management experience of the previous owners has all but disappeared. Gather Steakhouse next door is now the premier dining experience, and Garden Grill has become very much the poor relative. Offering dinner on Fridays only we look forward to going as a group to socialize and enjoy the evening, the food, the ambience, and the service. We have only been twice since the restaurant reopened under its new ownership. We are aware of the fact that the kitchen closes at nine as it always has so we try to go early around 7 o’clock for dinner so that by 9 PM we will have ordered our desserts.. Two reasons for the poor rating. The most offensive change which we have experienced on both occasions since the change of ownership is the almost fanatical closing process which happens on the button at 9pm. All the cushions are removed from empty tables and piled high on the tables in the centre of the restaurant. To say you are bing ushered out would be an understatement. We spoke with the supervisor this evening who was as always courteous (same team as previously) who assured she would bring this to the attention of ‘management’ (never seen) however we couldn’t help feeling that perhaps she was part of the issue. There’s a feeling of ‘tightening of the belt’ in terms of portions and quality, with several comments this evening on things not being as they were. A fish burger with a tiny portion of fish, a fire house burger with no fire, cold French fries and sweet potato fries and way smaller portions of steak with the steak salad as examples. Dessert items were ‘not available’ and the much loved passion fruit or pumpkin keto cheesecake no longer on the menu. We requested cheesecake from Gather restaurant next door and it was served with a chocolate sauce (we weren’t asked). Having a sensitivity to chocolate I apologised and asked if I could have one with raspberry sauce which was duly served. We were, though, made to feel as though we shouldn’t have asked proven by when one of our group asked for a further two portions he was advised to go to the restaurant next door and ask himself, which he did. Not good. He had to pay separately for the desserts next door (remember same owner). Garden Grill you have always survived on local business for the majority of your business. Those team members who care need to look out for their future survival in a competitive world where mediocrity in service is no longer acceptable. I for one and several of my friends will think twice before going back and I dare say the more folk that share our experience will likely follow suit.

Brunch is delivious and fast!

Since I love pancakes, I would say Garden Grill brunch satisfies my cravings and the taste melts in your mouth kind of experience. not to forget the service and how fast I can get the food was exemplary. I would like to commend this place for a wonderful experience it has been. I will be back in summer again… I hope there is garden grill in Puerto Rico.

Best burger in the Caribbean- you choose

What a burger ! Lovely setting with all amenities. Would love to have found this location earlier in my trip due to the quality and presentation of the other food I saw at the time. Friend on the island suggested we meet there and a great choice Believe the owner is also opening a fine dining steak restaurant at the old Brussola location so cannot wait to try that next trip

An unpleasant afternoon.

I will never return to Garden Grill again. The service was deplorable. After 2 hours of my order being placed, I finally got the meals that I had ordered. If you have no plans for the rest of the day and enjoy decent (at best), cold food - this is the place for you so that you can waste your Sunday morning and afternoon.. Have no idea who manages the place, but for the price point, one would expect much better quality of service and product.

Lovely restaurant to while away a few hours inbetween flights

What a great find only a short taxi ride from the airport. I needed to find a place to while away the 5 hours between inbound and outbound flights and the Garden Grill restaurant met all criteria. Had the sun been shining I could have lazed on a lounger and enjoyed a swim in the small pool however instead I took shelter from the warm rain and enjoyed several lovely coffees and lunch. Highly recommend for anyone that may need to while away a few hours close to the airport.

Just came back from a family brunch at this restaurant. Unfortunately I don’t see myself coming back here just because they made my family and I a bit uncomfortable. We had our reservation time from 10:30 till 12:30 and were told just before 12:00 that they needed the table for other patrons. Even before informing us that the table was needed for another group, the staff kept talking loudly about our table which was clearly an indication that they wanted us to leave. Mind you, it was indeed a very busy breakfast/brunch period but the service was poor. The staff talking among themselves very loudly while customers ate and the long wait for breakfast was it for my family and I. I do recommend managing their reservations better to avoid hiccups with time slots.

Excellent food, good atmosphere!

I stopped in for lunch based on the reviews I read, and this place did not disappoint! The service was friendly and fun. The food was amazing and fresh! I had the shrimp ceviche and it was outstanding. I also had the mahi mahi and a side option was brussel sprouts that were crispy with bacon, onion, parmesan cheese. The fries were delicious too. Definitely a place to stop in. Side note: reminder that island time is a thing. This place is close to the airport and I saw two different ladies getting a little testy because “they had to catch a flight” and needed their food. If you’re in any sort of hurry, going out to eat at a restaurant in Antigua is going to stress you out. I gave myself plenty of time, but was also there over an hour, pushing 1.5 hrs, (for just one person and lunch). Definitely worth the food, atmosphere and nice service.

We walked in and really appreciated getting a table straight away with rushed drink order! 2 out of 4 persons first time and we really like the spot so far. From our first interaction with our waitress there was no introduction and it almost felt like our questions about the menu was a bother. Starters and mains were out on time, the house burger had a bit of sweetness which she loved and as well as the quinoa salad. A steak order was over cooked, with no apology or to offer something else, the steak was picked up and brought back to the kitchen. They got it right the second time and was cooked perfectly. We sat there waiting to be checked on with empty glasses all while our waitress wiped and reset tables around us, we weren’t offered dessert or other drinks so we opted to leave. Overall a rocky experience but I’d return, the food was delicious but service needs to step up.

This restaurant is a well-kept secret. Upon arrival, we fall under the spell of this oasis of tranquility with the beautiful swimming pool. The service is excellent. There is even a children's menu. Gluten-free dishes (a rarity on the island) are even available. There is a good choice of wines by the glass.

Friday dinner

I went on a Friday night dinner with family. The food was a bit delayed due to heavy crowd. I would say that it was understandable and the manager did handle the situation well. He keeps checking and apologizing. Overall the food was exceptional. Service was ok.taffs are trained to handle pressure. Night ambiance for this restaurant is more better than day time so peaceful and windy and expensive feeling. Pricing is reasonable. My 5th.

Had a fantastic brunch here with friends in September. Beautiful location, friendly staff and a huge range of food to choose from. The Louisiana Benedict was fantastic- poached eggs and ham on a Cajun boudin cake( spicy meatball) . The steak and eggs was also very good. Very big portions. Good selection of cocktails and drinks. Would definitely recommend a visit.
