This restaurant forms part of the Admiral’s Inn hotel and is where guests (and visitors) can take breakfast and dinner (also lunch during the busier seasons). We stayed at the hotel and had breakfast here daily which was excellent - a good choice and of a high quality. Service excellent. We also dined here a number of nights as well. The evening menu is very good with a special on most nights. Service tremendous and establishment well run by Melinda. Drinks and cocktails of a very high standard and pricing on all items reasonable to the area. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend or return.

My husband and I recently visited Pillars for an evening meal. The setting is stunning and the views across the harbour were amazing. My husband had the chicken curry which was really tasty and I had the beef tenderloin which was cooked exactly as I had requested. The service from the staff was very professional in particular Melinda who was very attentive. There is a sister restaurant opposite called Boom who are open for lunch so we have booked to go on Saturday.

We ate at Pillars twice during our 5 day stay at Admiral's Inn including Valentine's Day when they had a special menu for the occasion. The setting is very romantic especially if you can score a table near the water! Our meals were expertly prepared and the service is efficient and friendly.

Pillars was a disappointment. My wife's and my appetizers were out of balance. A really tasty spiced tomato sauce overwhelmed the featured squid. And a really tasty, bold, sesame topping overwhelmed a delicate Mahi Mahi sashimi. My wife's main course, tuna with a piquant ratatouille, was the lone "five circle" food. My main course, surf and turf, fell short both into the surf and onto the turf, the lobster being dry but with no melted butter to counter, and my medium rare filet coming well done. (The restaurant replaced it (along with an apology), although it, too, was smothered in a dominating, powerful sauce.) Disappointing enough that we decided not to try for dessert. And, note to the restaurant: your (only) two offered red wines by the glass are uninteresting. We did without. All in all, trying hard, but not succeeding well.

Incredibly poor customer service from the moment we stepped inside. On arrival, we were abruptly told there is no record of our booking without even checking their system or reservations book, (a reservation that had been made 5 days in advance) and the second time our booking hasn’t been recorded correctly by the restaurant. We have been visiting Antigua for 17 years, dining at Pillars dozens of times and have stayed at the hotel numerous times. We’ve seen the service steadily go down hill over recent years - very disappointed and won’t be returning to the hotel or restaurant.

We arrived at Pillars and was told that they were very busy but that they had a table for us, but to go and have a drink in the bar until it was ready. 3/4 of an hour later still no sign of anyone showing us to our table despite the restaurant manager coming into the bar, so we asked when we could sit down, to be told that sorry but they’d run out of food so they couldn’t seat us. RIDICULOUS and rude as they were just leaving us there hanging with no decency to tell us that they were no longer going to serve us.

A beautiful setting that is strongly tied to its colonial past for better and for worse. The service was tense, and at times pushy. The meal felt rushed and the head server was passive-aggressive. The food has several issues - cold buns, overcooked lobster and bland steamed vegetables. I believe there is a lot of intention in the serving staff's approach but there was very little care in the follow-through. A poor experience for our final night in Antigua.

We visited on a Wednesday for the steel pans and Caribbean special evening, the regular menu is also available and there was not a disappointed diner in the house, no matter the selection. Sitting by the water and listening to the pans was a total pleasure, accompanied by beautiful lobster and some chilled wine it was a truly blissful evening. Our waitresses were lovely as well! A perfect night.

Showed up unannounced with 2 sailing boat crews total of 11 people, the staff was very nice and accommodating. They told us it would be a little bit to get a table put together which everyone knew ahead of time that would be the case. Now mind you we have never been to this place at all so no one knew what to expect. So the very nice staff got our table together and sat us and I would describe the decor as upscale picnic, wooden chairs cloth napkins, cloth table clothes. Very nice flatware. The menu had a variety of options from fresh Mahi Mahi to Chicken Alfredo(which I had) very good I might say. The only hit I would say is they had ran out of lobster so that was disappointing but did not ruin the night. Everyone of us were very satisfied with our meals and desserts that we had were very good as well. Another bonus is their WiFi is very good and free, which on this Island is hard to find even at other dinner stops.

Melinda and her team are superb hosts and ensure that you have a wonderful experience. The food is fantastic, only matched by the incredible views over English Harbour. Surrounded by the historical Admirals Inn, Pillars and waters edge. The choice and quality of the food is second to none with the menu changing regularly. Our favourites being the seafood chowder, lamb and parmigiana. We totally recommend this restaurant and have visited on many occasions as a couple and with friends. Thank you to all the team for a great experience. đź‘Ś Claire and Adrian

Pillars Restaurant set in the midst of the historic dockyard is the ideal setting for any meal with a stunning back drop of Shirley Heights and set alongside English Harbour. A full English Breakfast was cooked to perfection and the easy nature of the establishment lends itself to a calm and tranquil affair. Dinner in the evening was a little different but the same - shrimp starter and a green chicken curry were again superb. Pillars is only a short walk from Falmouth Harbour and there are many restaurants on the way to entice the diner, but it is worth the walk to find this gem of a restaurant.

Overall we ate three times, breakfast, lunchtime tapas and dinner. Our view is that the location and live music were outstanding but this was unfortunately not matched by all the food or the service. We have given our feedback directly to the restaurant management so this will come as no surprise. The service was slow and whilst friendly having to wait over 20 minutes to order coffee whilst staff cleared the kitchen at the end of service was unforgivable. Some fish in the bouillabaisse other than prawn and mini scallop would be nice and a mixed fruit platter with more than two fruits would be wonderful! It is not cheap so if you want a meal in a great setting this is fine for you but if you want really good food and excellent service look elsewhere.

We had breakfast at Pillars a number of times during our holiday and each time it was superb. The setting is wonderful as you are in the Unesco site of Nelsons Dockyard ,with historic buildings and sailboats - and the view over the creek to Boom is fabulous . The breakfast has to be the best in Antigua ! But best of all are the wonderful staff and a special mention to Claudia , Michelle and Antonia - they really are the superb - they provide the very best in customer service - they are efficient ,warm and friendly .We have been coming to Pillars for breakfast for years now and it is always lovely to meet up again with the lovely staff.

The location was very scenic and the staff were wonderful. The food looked good but just wasn’t tasty. My eggplant parmigiana, one of my favorite dishes, was bland. My husband’s beef dish was also bland. Not sure what happened. The jazz musicians were great. So I thought about giving this a 3 star but the location, music, and staff made up for the food.

This restaurant was recommended by our rep (from south point) walking distance as it is located in nelsons dockyard so there is a special feel to it. We booked and requested a water from table which we got and the food was lovely with the biggest portion of lobster. we had prawns to share as starter - hubby had lobster for mains and I had the special pork kebabs with coconut rice (very tasty and good portion) we shared a bottle of pinot grigio and one espresso it came to US$ 150. The waitresses didn't come over very much to check we were OK so may hubby had to go and ask for more lemon for his lobster but hey that is forgivable as we prefer to dine without too many interruptions. Very friendly first young waitress offering advice on the sauces to go with my pork which was appreciated she said if she got it wrong she would make sure it was sorted for me. Those little touches made this an even greater experience.
