This pass Sunday we took a dear friend to lunch here and had an enjoyable time. Sharon our waitress provided good service. The food was pretty tasty and well presented although there were too many dead flowers which couldn't stand up to the heat. The lamb stew and fired Marlin were definitely done to perfection so tender, light and delicious.... More

I visited this restaurant with my family for brunch the second Sunday in March. I really enjoyed it. I haven't been to Barbados since 2008 (my family is there) and to my surprise neither my parents or aunt had ever been. Reviews were good so I decided this was the place for us to go. To start with the staff... More

Very disappointed that there is no buffet at dinners and the a la carte dinner menu doesn't have the same selection of traditional dishes (no okra or macaroni pie). Quinoa stuffed pepper was good. The decor is nice and service was pleasant. No wifi.

Great place to try some authentic local food. Not a really fancy place so you can dress as formal as you want. We wore polos and jeans. Try the flying fish, the national dish. I enjoyed it. Cost was a little high for what you get but relative to everywhere else in Barbados it was reasonable. Really great presentation.

Hi, A lovely little restaurant. Dining occurs on several medium sized covered patios which gives a garden ambiance. The staff is attentive, introverted but friendly. The buffet offers many Caribbean style dishes which were quite good. The carving station yesterday was offering a roast pork. The pork was delicately seasoned but overly dry. I picked up a plate at the... More

I see some have had not so wonderful experiences at Brown Sugar but we had two dinners there a couple of weekends ago and both were absolutely exceptional. If we ever return to Barbados this will be our dinner venue. First, the place itself is lovely. Lots of greenery, a few pools with small falls and flowing water. Plus there... More

A nice relaxed restaurant that has great service and good food. Not a particularly lively experience unless you are blessed like we were with a US conference crowd that took over most of the restaurant. Even so, still worth a visit.

We had dinner on Sunday evening February 26, 2017. Very happy to return after our first visit two years ago. Very welcoming, lovely Bajan atmosphere and authentic Bajan menu. Delicious food made even better with local vegetables. Don't miss the bread pudding with rum plumped raisins in the custard sauce!

Brown sugar is a chilled out restaurant serving delicious Bajan food and you will certainly not leave hungry. Service was good, the restaurant itself is nice and I would recommend a visit.

We went to Brown Sugar our first night in at Barbados. All-in-all, it is a credibly good exemplar of Caribbean cuisine, but don't go out of your way to go there. On the PLUS side: 1) I really liked the dark, almost 'film noir' ambiance. The lights are ever-so-slightly dimmer than we expected and the eclectic mix of tourists and... More
