Completely booked up and packed, make your reservation ahead of time. Best restaurant out of 5 that we ate at in Havana. If you watch CNBC's The Profit, you'll remember Marcus' trip to Cuba and trying to invest in this business (got turned down). Don't let location throw you off, safe neighborhood........all the neighborhoods are safe in Havana with no... More

We visited this restaurant based on the recommendation of a friend and Trip Advisor Reviews. It was okay but it felt to me like we were being rushed through so they could turn the tables faster. Others comment on the dilapidated building that it is in and the flights of stairs you have to climb, and that part all adds... More

The law in Cuba is that private restaurants can only be in private homes and serve no more than 12 people. La Guarida is composed of a number of "private" apartments over several floors with a central kitchen . . . wonderful old Cuba building with great views and decor. The food is excellent and they actually have a good... More

Of course book in advance...I did so by email and they are strict about reconfirming etc. Even so a long wait to get a table in an area where you are jockeying with fellow tourists for space. Not a pleasant start. Finally got a table at about 940 for a 900 reservation. The setting in Centro is interesting and climbing... More

Our visit to this restaurant was a real treat! I don't want to spoil it by saying too much but the setting and food are not to be missed because it showcases just what Cuba has to offer. Do go if you can!

Be prepared to walk up many flights of stairs. From the outside it looks like another falling down building, but inside and upstairs it is transformed into a really cool space ~ much of it rooftop. The food here the most ambitious we tasted in Havana. Just a great vibe.

Amazing setting with better food. This place is 5 stars. You must make a reservation far in advance. Go for dinner and have a drink and cigar at the rooftop bar after.

La Guarida, the setting for the 1995 film Strawberry and Chocolate, has a roof top bar with an incredible view of Central Havana and a terrace and front room for dining. the food is good, the service attentive, the setting remarkable -- a decaying building under renovation, with a marble staircase, scaffolding, and a mural with excerpts from one of...
