This is a small paladar set in a charming garden and front room of a house - specialises in Mex, but I always have their ropa vieja, which is excellent, and fresh juices - i have been coming here for several years and it's always...goodMore

This restaurant offers great service and a cozy atmosphere, though it may be a bit hard to find. Definitely unconventional for the unaccustomed, this place offers a great dining experience. The prices are good and while it isn't quite the best Mexican despite being so...close, it's a great place to grab a bite when you need a bit of Mexican flareMore

We had one night at Sheraton located less than a kilometer from this restaurant. It is located in a residential neighborhood, and is very cozy and has a relaxed atmosphere. I think it is run by a private family and when we were there only...a young woman was there in the restaurant. We were 2 adults and 2 teenagers. Two of us had quesadillas and two had burritos. Unfortunately the burritos and the salad on the side contained coriander, which I dislike, so it kind of spoiled it for me. The quesadillos were not that impressive either, they were definitely not freshly made and were not at all tasteful. We all left remains on our plates. It was not a good experience for us, and we would not return, if we had the chance.More

We went to "Mi jardin" during a vacation trip on September/2014. This "paladar" was just a few blocks from the hotel we were staying at. The guacamole and fried beans are to die for. All the food served was amazing. The place is very clean...and inviting, you can sit in the patio outside or if you choose to stay inside that's also great because they do have A/C. But the best about this place is the service. The waiter really went above and beyond to please us. I would definitely recommend this place and will come back!!More

Three days in Havana and we have been here twice now. Not the easiest of places to find as it really is just ringing the bell on a gate to a house in a residential street. But the family are very welcoming and show you...through to a room with tables set up for guests. No outside area as other reviews mentioned but I think it is low season. Our hotel is full, and I would love to drag a group here to fill it up, but we went for the food more than the atmosphere. And what food! Imagine some Mexican friends who are good cooks have invited you for dinner. Simple, honest home cooked food. Tasty and not shy on the portions. Another review mentioned the best guacamole ever, well my regret is that it is not avocado season in Cuba at the moment so we couldn't order it. Still, we had totopos with frijoles and queso instead and together with a home made salsa they were an excellent starter. So friendly and helpful as well. Would recommend the trip here for the food, or if you are staying at one of the nearby resort hotels, get out of the hotel and walk the few blocks and ring that bell!More

This lovely restaurant is located in Playa, Havana, only 5 minutes walk from hotel Miramar Occidental. Paladar is a restaurant in a private home, and the food is usually far better than in regular restaurants. Mi Jardin serves delicious Mexican and Cuban dishes, fresh, homemade...and tasty! They even have chicken and mole negro (the famous black sauce) on the menu. It is far better to sit in the garden than in the small dining room inside. The garden is beautiful in the evening, and we were served by a very courteous and smiling young man. The food arrived before we had finished our mojitos. The tortillas and soups we ate were very good. Reasonable prices.More

As a frequent visitor to Havana and one that always stays in the Miramar area Mi Jardin has been a personal favorite for years. It's proximity to the hotel I stay in makes it a perfect place to visit often. It has incredible Mexican food...with homemade tortillas and great atmosphere on it's outdoor terrace. Mi Jardin has undergone quite a few changes since I was there last, the menu has been updated and new dishes added, the price has increased but only slightly. The addition of very good and large margaritas is a welcome change. I visited in early October (harvest) so the fabulous guacamole was still available, as always it did not disappoint. I had my personal favorite the jalapeno chicken and my dining companion had chicken in soft tortilla shells. Both were excellent. We finished with flan coffee and of course an aged rum. Dinner for two not including drinks or tip was $20 cucMore

I loved the atmosphere, the food and the guy who served us food. This little restaurant is a paladares so basically you eat in a lovely house. Good price!

This restaurant is actually in a garden, myself and a fellow traveller went here for dinner and what a beautiful place in the evening. FYI this is a cute gem in Havana and it gets busy! the food is good and so are the rum...drinks! As with most places in Cuba the service is slightly lacking, however in Cuba there is no need to go fast, so order a drink and sit back and relax. The prices I found reasonable with such a great location, they are more than eating at a street vendor or small cafe, however far less expensive than a 'nice' restaurant and with a much better ambiance. The location is slightly difficult to find, we ended up walking around like tourists with a city street map out to ensure we were going in the right direction. The location is good though, after dinner we walked around and found some great outdoor venues with live cuban music. This was one of the highlight evenings of my time in Havana.More

My wife and I ate at Mi Jardin on back-to-back nights this past week and absolutely loved it. It's too bad there are so few reviews here, because it had some of the best food in Havana. We tried many different menu items and were...pleased with all of them. Truly delicious Mexican cuisine. More importantly, the service and prices were exceptional. Even on a busier night with the one server helping four tables, we got some of the best service of any place we ate at in Havana. The location can be problematic, but it is VERY close to the hotels (ie. Occidental or Melia) in Miramar. Once you know to look at the cement stumps on the ground (instead of signs on posts), navigating the streets is easy. The price was also appealing and a great surprise. For a thorough meal: Cola + Mojito + Beer 2 main dishes 2 appetizers 2 coffees The bill was well under $30 before tip. With just drinks and main dishes, expect to pay around $20 with tip. I hope more people give this place a chance because my wife and I loved it. We intended to return a 3rd time but our plans didn't allow it. A lovely place to dine!More
