We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Salsa Suarez last Thursday and before leaving, we booked a table for Friday evening! We were made to feel welcome by the charming staff, and although the menu is currently very limited, the food was excellent. Delicious bruschetta, crisp pizza, a marvellous house lasagna with chicken, spinach & mushrooms...and the desserts were amazing. Creme brûlée, flan with cake, deconstructed tiramisu - they were all good but the creme brûlée was exceptional and cost only 3.5 CUC. I also tried a mojito with passion fruit (delicious) and the house wines were great value at 3 CUC a glass. Excellent service, an attractive setting and great ambience. Highly recommended.

This was the best food in Varadero by far! I am vegetarian while my partner is not. They had some interesting veggie options (spaghetti with curry sauce) as well as starters. Great cocktails and also desserts. The service was fantastic - fast and attentive, ready to help anytime. It's not the cheapest place in Varadero but compared to home (UK) still very reasonable. We spend 50 CUC for a full dinner with starter, main, and shared dessert plus two cocktails each.

In general a very nice resturant, very good food , good variation in the menu.
Exellent and very friendly service . I had a steak , it was very tender and good, my wife had chicken , very tender and tasty . We invites our Cuban friends to this fanyastic resturant

Vegan Sushi in Cuba is basically unheard of!
You should order this, it’s very tasty and probably the only vegetables you’ll see all holiday if you’re staying at a nearby all-inclusive…
Portion sizes are good and 2 adults + 1 child shared a portion of vegan Sushi (8 pieces), two Margarita pizzas & two chocolate brownies with ice cream.
Cocktails are good and well priced and service is also very good.
We came here twice without a reservation, arrived around 7.30pm and didn’t need to wait for a table. They seem to get busier from 8.30pm
They don’t take cards, so bring cash.
Service charge is already included, as is common in many restaurants here.
The bill is issued in pesos, dollars & euros and if you’re using GBP they expect you to pay the euro price, but as the food is so much better than many other restaurants & the hotel, we let this slide.

I had seafood dish with flaming rum (it was awesome), rest of family had pasta and pizza. We all gave it two thumbs up (6 total).
Excellent Service (Great staff)
Excellent Food (Very Tasty)
Great Wine Selection (Had the house Chardonnay white) great with my seafood dish
Great Ambiance
It's also air conditioned. You can enjoy a great meal in a cool atmosphere.
And the prices.... very reasonable.
My compliments to the waiting staff, bar tender, and the kitchen staff. (6 thumbs up)

This was the best meal we had on our vacation. The food at our resort was not good and we were very hungry when we arrived. It is small, so we had to wait for a table, but it only took about 10-15 min. The menu is available by QR code and had both a Spanish and English version. We had two pastas, two pizzas, Tuscan chicken (which came with a salad with avocado), pork tacos, two milkshakes, two 7 ups, three alcohol drinks and three brownies with ice cream for dessert. Tip was included and it came to 110$ Canadian (American would have been less). The same meal at home would have been over 200$, easily. The value for the price was excellent. The service was a little slow, but otherwise it was great. They had a lot of food options, but we don’t eat seafood, so didn’t try anything like that. I think they only took cash, but they took CAN, USD and pounds. Overall, we were very pleased.

Salsa Suarez has been our go to restaurant for several years now when we visit Cuba. Starting with outstanding authentic sangrias, delicious food and an excellent wine list you will not be disappointed. All this in a cozy, inviting environment where attention to detail is clearly important. The menu is varied with an extensive list of daily specials enough to delight everyone. You will be greeted upon arrival by the maitre' d and be well taken care of through out your dining experience. We always share our experience with other guests at our resort as the go to place if they wish to enjoy dining in town! We last visited November 2019, will be returning February 2020! As always it will be our favourite meal of our trip.

I used to go often while vacationing in Cuba because they have sushis that were pretty decent. Last time I went for lunch they didn’t have the rice to prepare the sushi so I ordered pizzas. Almost two hours later we were still waiting for the pizza so I was furious because the waitress kept changing the reason for the wait. Finally the pizza came, they said Pizza with Gouda cheese it was not a Gouda cheese. My mom lives there and she said it was the same cheap cheese Cubans buy on the street. Last was the service, they were somehow nice but they have this annoying habit of taking the drinks off the table while there is still beer or whatever we ordered on the glass without asking. It felt like they were ready to jump on the table to grab the glass I hadn’t finished, so I had to secure it on my hand. Pretty stressful time having lunch there

Every dish was marvellous - from the chefs surprise biscuit with hummus then a chicken salad so wonderful with mango, fresh and crunchy and perfect. Cerviche of red snapper - WOWOWOW. I would say order anything! The pizza looked like the best but why bother with pizza when EVERYTHING looked great. Wine by the bottle with a good selection but they house red by the glass also wonderful. They make their own Limoncello digestive. If in Veraderro for a week or two - Don’t miss this. Oh and the service was excellent.

This restaurant has a nice atmosphere and really good food, but we were very surprised at the lack of hand hygiene by many staff (and this was consistent in the 3 meals that we ate at the restaurant). Two of our waitresses kept coughing into their hands, and then serving food and touching cutlery (without washing or using sanitizer). One waitress coughed over our table as she was taking our order. we were really surprised (and disturbed) given the recent pandemic.The staff are attempting to be very professional. I think they just need education on healthy coughing practices and hand hygiene, so they are not sharing viruses with their patrons. Lots of potential.

I read the reviews and we weren’t disappointed. We turned up without a booking and had to wait 20 mins for a table (I would recommend booking as there were always people waiting). Whilst waiting we had two of the best Mohijtos in Cuba. This places serves a range of cuisine. Really good quality and service. Great wine. Really good atmosphere and very reasonably priced.
Cannot fault this place. If you are looking to escape your hotel…. This is the place to escape to!

We headed to Salsa Suarez after few days at the resort having buffet food with very low expectations.
The only thing I can say, we were pleasantly surprised with the variety and quality of the food, service and atmosphere were great.
It’s a must visit restaurant when in Varadero.
We will absolutely revisit next time we’re in town.

For years I had always loved this restaurant but this time it wasn’t the same. In the past years when in Varadero I would always go two to three times per week here and this place was always full. But this time I was surprised to see that it was empty, we were only three on a wednesday night. I asked and i was told that it was a quiet season… euh no ! We are middle march and the others like Varadero 60, El Carbon and Don Alex in front were full. I ate there anyways, a soup, a steak, a coke and a beer and it cost me 83 Canadian dollars (exchange rate at 150/1) without tips. The food was ok (not as good as it used to be) but definitely not worth the price. I was really disappointed. I will not go back nor recommend. Now I know why it was empty.

We came for a 'quick afternoon bite' and ended up with a lovely extended 'afternoon diner'. Not only the tastes were exceptional, also the way of presenting the dishes. We started with the ham croquettes as an apetizer, continued with the tuna tropical salad as a starter, had the shrimp risotto and seafoodplatter as a main course and the brownie and rice pudding as a desert. Hard to say wich course was the best. All tastes were of a high standard.
Good quality of wine.
Reasonable prices.
This was far the most lovely gastronomic experience we had in our 3 week trip through Cuba.

Went there and though the place is beautiful, and the service friendly, the meal was not as delicious I consider it should be. The appetizers were ok but I've had better for the same price. The beef was excellent but the rice (and it's the reason for me no to give them a 5 stars) did not semelled ok. Like old. Was fresh made but smelled like old stored rice... A shame. I don't think I'll return since there are other restaurants that are cheaper and offer a better rice... hope it helps them to improve the service.
