the food was amazing and the service was wow...including the story telling from the waiter and his knowledge of Montreal and the Quebec accent...

We arrived late, so we could not be picky. The service was not the best, and the employees were not so kind as I was used to in Cuba. Food was normal.

Three of us stopped here for dinner and all three meals were great. My friends both got the lobster and I had the fish. The owner actually met us in the street and sat us himself. Our server was excellent as well.

the owner is always in and very friendly. the atmosphere is fantastic, its a little gem off the main drag. Its always busy but we seemed to time it just right.I go to Cuba every year and will go back to La Rampa every year as...well.Its small and cosy but they care for all there customers extremely well. You can easily chat and hear but the best part of the visit is the food and the enthusiasm of the owner to make your visit a memorable experience. He wants and gets repeat customers all the time. Its like a little oasis that you will find revisiting your memory for months after as well as before your next visit. I'm sure he sees people from all over the world and yet takes the time to find out a little bit about you and where your from. Not once during our visit did I see a cell phone and the quietness allowed you to hear music played very softly in the back ground. But the experience did not end there, far from it. After saying our good byes there was no rush to simply jump into a taxi, instead the evening put you in the mood to walk and before we knew it we had put twelve blocks behind us reminiscing of our evening.More

Look, it's Cuba. You're not going to get a fine dining experience anywhere because they just don't have all the ingredients, but if you want lobster tails and shrimp, this is the place to go. It's intimate and reasonably priced. No, you're not going to...get Red Lobster-sized plates of food, but you're not going to pay $14 for two Caribbean-sized lobster tails, either. And, please, just because you're on a "bargain vacation" in Cuba, don't be an embarrassment -- tip generously.More

Never again ! Went there for dinner, an ordinary evening, and got a table for 2. Ordered a somewhat expensive shrimp dish and a paella, a beer plus a glass of white wine. The drinks came out, and my wine was in the smallest glass...I have ever seen, like a dessert wine glass, and expensive, the beer was not much better....... In the middle of everything, we had to get up and move our table towards a wall, ourselves, so that I barely could get out, because the staff squeezed in another table next to us......... - A “Thank you” from the staff would have been nice......... Then, there was the food....... The paella was the blandest baby food we have ever tasted, and my shrimps were hopelessly small and overcooked......... - The garlic, mentioned on the menu, was nowhere to find or taste ! Needless to say, we did not finish our meals, and my husband had to go into the kitchen to get the attention of the staff, so that we could pay and leave.......... - By far, our worst meal in Varadero, and maybe ever......... Oh, and outside the restaurant, right next to the outdoor tables, is a meeting spot for local taxi drivers, who blow their cigarette smoke right at the tables.......... I got a very rude answer, when I asked them to move a little, and got to know that “ that was my problem”!More

I was in a position where my resort food was lacking so given the opportunity to try a number of local Varadero Restaurants. La Rampa shined with the best lobster I tried. It was cooked perfectly with a nice(although a little small) accompaniment of butter...sauce. Great service, nice people, good food.More
