We went to Xanadu for drinks and to listen to the music. Terrific singer and jazz musicians. Good mojitos.

The Xanadu Mansion exudes the opulence of the 30's when it was the Cuban residence of the Dupont family. We had a meal just as the sun was going down and were treated to a spectacular sunset over the sea whilst we ate, it is a very romantic setting. The food we had was very good well presented and up... This Club House for the Varadero Golf Course is the former Dupont House of the famous American financier. It still maintains the charm of that bygone era with wood panelling and beautiful furniture. The restaurant is outstanding and from the third floor bar the view the view is magnificent. You can almost see Florida! There are rooms to rent if... More

Lovely room with lots of wood and windows all around. Quite a staircase to get there. Take the elevator if you are not up for the climb. Great drinks and a saxophone player the night we were there. One of our group played a round of golf earlier in the day and said it was a good course and quite... More

At far end of Melia Varadero resort's beach. Mansion was built before Prohibition and fast boats used its jetty to ship booze to Florida.

This lovely mansion is built right by the water, with beautiful views of the sea and adjacent beaches. The building itself is worth a guided tour, to learn about its history and architecture. We did not stop for a meal, but there is a very classy bar on the top floor to have a drink with a spectacular view.

We took a pink convertible taxi to dinner last week for a birthday dinner while visiting varadero. We were able to have a short look around at the wine cellar & bar before our seating. Dinner was a great meal....the warm lobster salad appetizer was delicious and large enough to be an entree. Chateaubriand was tender, juicy & perfectly cooked.... More

Based in a mansion house with a historical interest (and currently the Varadero Golf Club), this is fine-dining restaurant which offers a menu heavily influenced by the French cuisine, which is something to look forward to. The food is actually very good, probably with added value (both in the experience and in its price) because of the location. After all,... More

What a beautiful mansion. They were restoring it when we were there, but the tour that we got was great, the guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. The view you get here is absolutely fantastic and a must see if you go to Veradero.
