Great early supper. The longaniza with patacones was an exceptinal appetizer. Nothing like it anywhere in the Caribbean. The fish (Mahi Mahi) in coconut milk was tasty and fresh. Service was superb. Fully recommed.

The place is nice, but not amazing. The food is good, but not delicious. The staff can be more attentive - I had to waive down a waiter to order, to ask for a menu, to ask for a check, etc. A good option for Dominican food, but a little over hyped in travelers books and social media, in my opinion. I am not sure I'd go back; I can find good Dominican food a better prices elsewhere.

The food was expensive and it tasted like it was reheated. Some stews had meat that was still cold and other plates had meat that was dried out from microwaving. There was only one waiter for the whole restaurant. Each time we needed anything we had to call him over while he stood waiting and staring distant from the tables. At the end of our meals, they told us they only accepted cash without posting any sign or notifying us that they wouldn’t take credit cards and gave us a huge bill. I cannot recommend this restaurant . I don’t know how it received so many good reviews considering how awful our experience was.

I typically don’t write reviews but my disappointment Is driving me to write this. I saw reviews here about this place but when I got there, it was NOT what I expected. Poor set up, expensive and the food let’s call it mediocre. I could have this food in any street vendor. I paid for 1 beer, 1 shrimp al ajillo and 1 filet $60 USD. Believe me, I will pay it gladly if the food was at least good or above the average. With all respect to my Dominican friends, this restaurant doesn’t make any justice ti the delicious food they make. Don’t go to this place as the pics being displayed are not recent.

I have been to this restaurant with my husband and i do not recommend. Super expensive for the food served. Have a look on the dishes super poorly presented. The fried fish as starter is served without any sauce, the main dish with super small shirimps...the service is terrible. Overpriced and over rated. I spent 60 usd on those plates that i could easily pay 30 buckets max. The beer costed 400 pesos each small bottle.

The place is gorgeous and is in a great location in the Zona Colonial. However, the service was slow, orders got mixed up, and the cangrejo guisado (crab stew) that was featured on Anthony Bourdain's television show "No Reservations" came to me still partly frozen, indicating it must have been made in batches and frozen as individual portions. And it was watery and bland. Maybe it would have been better if it was freshly cooked and hot, but....However, the rice and beans was good, and the rum cocktails did not skimp on the rum.

Extremely expensive and a bad value for your money. A simple rice and beans dish with a little meat cost over $50 this typical ordinary dish doesn't cost more than $10 in most restaurants. Much better values in other establishments. Not recommended at all.

This is a classic Colonial Zone spot with a great ambiance. The quality of the food is generally good; however, the speed of the service can vary greatly.

The best meal my husband and I had in Santo Domingo. Authentic, unpretentious, and delicious. We ordered beef empanadas, fish fillet in creole sauce, and rope vieja.

The place is just lovely, located in a building with a wonderful patio and bamboo trees. Menu is wide and food is good. The owner cares about the guests.

Lovely quiet dinner in beautiful space, surrounded by art. Try the chivo ripiado (goat meat). We were there very early for dinner, so I don’t know about service or noise if it’s more crowded. earldinner

Delicious steak empanadas and longanizas with tostones (fried plantain). Food is delicious, place is cozy, and best of all, with a/c to beat the heat.

We came to this restaurant because it was a four-star rated restaurant and we knew it was high price. We therefore were expecting a good quality meal and service. Instead, even though we were the only customers in the restaurant, our food was cold. The french fries were like from McDonald’s but cold. The vegetables were frozen vegetables and were cold and mushy. The shrimp scampi had tons of garlic pieces but had no taste of garlic as if the sauce was days old. The eggplant stuffed with crab meat came out very hot, however there were so many shells that it was unpleasant to eat. We had two waiters. The first was young and very attentive but had to leave after our appetizer. The second had an attitude. Perhaps that can be forgiven by the fact that we were the only customers and he would not be making much without customers. I would think that he would be more grateful for us being there. We still tipped him well. I would not recommend this restaurant.
