Why bother with fancy froo-froo food when you can get good local stuff prepared well? Posada de Gladys is an open air eatery, serving fried chicken, pork, rice and beans to the sound of local guys playing dominoes and whatever music tickles the fancy of the staff. A good solid meal will set you back ten or twelve bucks a... More

Took the family back to Posada de Gladys after being away for 3 years and couldn't be happier with the improvements and overall experience. Super reasonably priced, good food and service. You know you chose the right place when all the locals go their for their food. Definitely try La Posada de Gladys!

We knew this place would be good before we ordered. It was filled with locals at lunch- construction workers, policemen, hotel workers, etc. The beans and rice were the best thing on the menu and could be paired with chicken (fried or grilled) or other meats. We also had a Caribbean shrimp that was really good.

The food here is very good and indeed cheap. You can tell that by the number of locals who eat here. The staff does not speak English and it may be hard to communicate if you do not know Spanish. It happened twice to us that while paying we were told different price than the one that was in the... More

The place is the best for real local food, $3-$4 dollars dishes, is a good location, the restaurant is not in the best shape but again the food is very good.

This is actually my number one eating location because the food is very cheap, very authenic, you have great customer service and it is pretty much the top DR local restaurant in the bavaro area! The prices are at local rates and not ramped up as in the nearby tourist rate pricing! I was actually surprised that this place was... More

My wife and I ate here three times during our 8 night stay in the Punta Cana, Bavaro, Cortecito area. We actually stayed at an apartment across the street so we were attracted by the locals who frequented the establishment. We always feel that when traveling, eat where the local residents eat as they would know best. In this case,... More

Well, Im sure not everyone gonna like Dominican food. It is based on beans, rise, roots (potato, sweet potato, yuca, yam...) and meat (chicken, pork and beef), it is greasy and piquant. Especially for breakfast. But it happens to have my breakfast at Gladys. I really like the taste of food, but it was very heavy. I take beans, rise... More
