The restaurant is busy and very trendy. Everyone in our group enjoyed it except my daughter is gluten free. We spoke to our waiter and he assured us the items she ordered would be safe. With in hours she was ill. For a restaurant of this reputation they should take food allergies more seriously.

Great vibe, can be loud, consistently a top 5 restaurant in San Juan. Not inexpensive, but pamper yourself and go. You will love it. 3 of us had the Sea Bass which was to die for, 3 Shrimp also very good. We were famished and shared a number of appetizers.

Santaella is a great restaurant located in La Placita de Santurce, very close to El Condado. The ambiance at the restaurant is great. Simple but elegant. The food is excellent and the service attentive. A must go if you are in San Juan.

Delicious food. Excellent service. Sexy setting. We bought the chef's cookbook, too. Do not miss this restaurant if you visit San Juan.

My daughter, a chef in Washington, DC, wanted to try this restaurant on learning that the chef had trained at El Bulli, the famous Spanish restaurant that closed a couple of years ago. We were not disappointed; every dish was perfectly prepared-- flavorful, fresh, and interesting. We shared several small plates--a smoky bean and chorizo casserole, hen of the woods... More

A group of us went for dinner late on Friday night. The atmosphere was extremely lively with almost nowhere to walk and people enjoying themselves all over the place. This is a contrast from other fine-dining places I have been to. Decor was nice as well with a view of several tropical plants enclosed within a glass wall. We ordered... More

I go to Puerto Rico often. I always make a point to go to this restaurant because of its location. Very fun area to walk around before and after dinner. But primarily the staff is amazing, food is always consistent and incredible and the cocktails are the best I have ever had. They all have fresh herbs and squeezed juices... More

We enjoyed our lunch at Santaella after a morning trip to the El Yunque rain forest. We tried a variety of appetizers and entrees with each tasting as good as the last. We particularly liked the seafood dishes which were delicately spiced and served with local vegetables. We did not need reservations but weekends tend to be crowded.
