Our Gastronomy Dates back to the 1850's At Princesa we've rescued the 1859 cookbook El cocinero puertorriqueño (The Puertorrican Cook). It contains details about 19th century Puertorrican culinary culture and its influences from Africa, Spain, the native Taínos and other Caribbean islands. Since the book was missing some parts related to the ingredients, our kitchen staff has worked to reconstruct its recipes using all of the available information. For the most part we have kept to the ingredients from the original recipes. We invite you to taste and learn about the best of our culinary culture.

Good service, very attentive. Pretty empty for late lunch but probably hopping in the evening. We had a selection of small bites, some of which were very tasty, others more mundane. Good drinks - including a virgin Pina Colada, good selection of beer. Nice pork...More

Everything was fantastic. Interesting items in the menu, fresh fish, great live music (not too loud), and excellent service. Best food we’ve had so far in San Juan!

The food was great and the staff friendly. Highly recommend the Sancocho. The only drawback was that we could not sit outside. This used to be an outdoor restaurant and it was an amazing experience. Eventhough there were tables setup outside we were told we...More

If you are at the port in Old San Juan it is a short walk, if at Panamerican Port near Covention Center you must take a cab.
