I loved this place. Great cheap lunch. Pork cubes in plantain sauce with mofungo hit the spot. Friendly efficient service to boot. Empanadas were good too.

Our landlord recommended this spot. He was right on about the food, but it was almost too loud to taste the food. We sat upstairs in the little balcony area, so it was actually quieter than down below.

Casual but charming in its own way. Good quality local food. Good for a lunch while walking the Old San Juan.

This is a classic Puerto Rican place where you can find more locals than tourists. Food is very good and it is value for money. One of the best choices in San Juan. The lady that served us was great!

This restaurant was just a few houses down from our hotel La Terraza. We stumbled upon it by accident, it was loud jumping and packed ,so we figured this must be the spot to eat. we were not wrong, the place has excellent food, it's authentic Puerto Rican with great prices and a cool ambience. We ate here twice over... More

Restaurant El Jibarito is one of my favorite in Old San Juan. Excellent authentic puertorrican food and real good price. Definitely not a tourist "trap". Service very good and waiters are very friendly.

We're from Tampa and eat a lot of Latin/Puerto Rican food and this is a can't miss if you're in old San Juan. Fantastic food and service. Don't let the obscure entrance fool you, it is outstanding.
