My family and I wanted to have lunch at one of the restaurants in La Guancha. However, we went there on a Tuesday afternoon and everything was closed, I'm not sure if it was closed due to all the covid restrictions. Anyway, we decided to drive around Ponce, most places are closed and the whole town looks pretty much deserted. At some point we saw Sabor & Rumba. I checked previous reviews and based on that we decided to give it a try. The place is tiny, with a few outdoor tables but the food was fenomenal. The portions were generous and the prices were fair. As appetizers, we tried the mariquitas al mojito and chorizos guava. For entries we ordered mofongo caribeño with steak accompanied with arroz mamposteao, as well as chicken timbalero accompanied with tostones and garlic parmesan French fries. For drinks we ordered mango, strawberries and passion fruit frappes, as well as some beers. Everything was delicious but my favorite was the mofongo caribeño with the arroz mamposteao. If you pass by Ponce, Sabor & Rumba is definitely a spot you should check out!!!

The place is in an interior patio. Mofongo with chicken was really good and made in the moment. My husband lived the rice abd beans with chorizo. Service was good. The only thing is that there is no air conditioning and was very hot.

Great casual meal in Ponce. The food and drinks were fresh and delicious. Healthy options available. We enjoyed the atmosphere in an open air courtyard. Staff was friendly and patient explaining the menu. Overall great experience.

We were looking for food and saw the signs for this restaurant advertising dinner items. Of course, we were there at lunch and that dinner menu wasn’t happening. The open courtyard was absent of people so I wasn’t sure we could get food. We saw an opening in a wall which looked like a carnival food booth or cart. There was one person back there trying to cook for all 6 of us and it was not quick. Lots of frying implements and not much else. The food was an odd combination....chicken cordon bleu, plantains, croquettes, meat, cheese and rice. It all had a decent flavor and filled us up.

Stay away!! So we had to spend the night in Ponce because my son’s SAT was moved there last minute. Mu boy loves hamburgers and several reviews said this would be a great choice. So mistaken!! Frozen entrees. Lukewarm at best. Only gave it 2 stars because the beans were tasty and the plantains were fresh. Still, stay away!!

Had one of the best Pellas in my life here. The bathrooms could do some cleaning, but the overall ambience and food was absolutely amazing. I highly recommend.

Luis,(not sure of the spelling) the server that helped us was so kind. The menu changes daily. We had the steak and it was the perfect balance of flavor. Our 12yr old was not as adventurous and Luis offered to make their version of "chicken nuggets". (Not on the menu) Between that and their potato wedges, my son left satisfied. So grateful for his kindness. Truly a gem to find. Great outside atmosphere.

This place is a gem! A very creative twist on traditional Puerto Rico food. Very unexpected and very delicious...and an added plus...perfectly delicious Mojitos! Maybe the best I’ve ever had anywhere.
My spouse and I shared everything. Starters of sliced plantains with a tangy lime sauce. They were delicately crisp but didn’t seem deep fried which was nice. Not swimming in sauce, drizzled. Amazing. Next was chorizo with a guava glaze. The chorizo was cubed and served in a bowl with crisp garlic bread. Softly garlicky and not overpowering for the salty sweet chorizo. This starter was indescribably delicious. Then we shared the Timpalo de Pollo Relleno de Mofongo de Yuca con Ragu de Gandules. Fantastic to say the least! Side dishes are also included and we orders the mamposteao. The portions were very large and we could have shared this with another person! There is no way to leave this restaurant hungry. The portions are generous and the prices are very reasonable. The desserts sounded great but we didn’t have room for more.
The restaurant is in the open courtyard of an old historic building so that you are dining al fresco but in a protected outdoor space.
The service was great and the staff kind, friendly and helpful. The chef is available for a chat or comment from the open kitchen. He was masterful. This is a wonderful restaurant. GO!

I’ve taken several vacations to the island, and eaten in PR from San Juan to Sabana Grande over the past 20 years. Hands down this chef is the best.
Hidden gem, if you’re in Ponce, Sabor y Rumba is a must!!!

Sabor y Rumba, localized in a Parking Lot building, to my surprise, serve a great foot at a very affordable price.The foot presentation, taste and service are all excellent!.Is perfect to have a very nice lunch.

I am still amazed about their wide menu in such a small area. This time it was even better than before. I had the mahi-mahi (Dorado) with tostones and my wife had a cheese burger. excellent friendly service with good cold beer. A great place to eat well in the middle of Ponce, quite close to Plaza las Delicias. Glad we returned, finally found a good place.
