We drove from La Esperanza to this place every day for lunch after someone at our hotel had recommended it. Fish tacos are REALLY sensational - and we know our fish tacos. They accommodated my Keto dietary needs and made me a special fish dish...which was not on the menu. One of the chefs, Sonia, is Keto, too, and she makes sensational desserts, one of which she sells - a lemon pound cake. Delicious. We loved this place and its friendly staff. They need to fix their broken coffee machine as we had to go elsewhere (Rising Roost, nearby) for our post-lunchtime lattes. No matter. A great place.More
We arrived yesterday at around 7:00 for dinner and the women at the counter was not friendly and was annoyed by our presence. She never checked our temperature or offered any hand sanitizer. We did sit down at a small table and never offered a...beverage but ask what we wanted to order off of a menu on the wall. We ended up leaving and going to the restaurant nextdoor and had an amazing dinner...More
The restaurant serves alot of authentic Puerto Rican food that is native to the island. The seafood can be hit & miss because you have to rely on the local fisherman. We hit it perfectly both of us ordered seafood meals and they did not...disappoint. The staff was extremely attentive keeping our glasses full and served up some of the best food we have ever eaten. It was so good we ordered dessert and we were amazed. Be sure to visit Biekes Bistro the next time your on the island.More
Seeing as it was New Years Day during COVID, many restaurants were not open. We drove through Isabelle II to find a restaurant that was open, and were happy to find that Bieke’s was. As we entered the restaurant with our face coverings on, the...middle aged male staff member yelled “not allowed, must be mask! Exit now!” My husband has worn a face covering gaiter into several other restaurants on the island and at home in the states without having this issue. But because of limited dining options being open, he returned to our rental jeep to get one of my flowered masks. When we walked in again, he was behind the bar. We stood there awkwardly for a little while, as he chatted with locals seated at the bar. He said we could sit outside, so we began to walk to the patio to be seated. He then again yelled at us, saying we needed to scan ourselves with the thermometer. This is a standard COVID procedure when dining and shopping on the island, but the employee will scan YOU. We’ve never been told to scan ourselves... so, trying to obey their odd rule my husband picked up the temperature scanner and attempted to use it. The same man stood behind the bar and yelled at us again, “DO NOT TOUCH THAT!” So, my husband dropped it. A waitress came over to scan us on our arms, and the patrons in the restaurant had stopped eating/drinking/talking because he made such a scene. We understand small businesses and restaurants are hurting right now due to COVID, and are willing to comply with any rules they have so we can support them/so they can stay open. But to be yelled at for following what he told us to do was ridiculous. We were starving, so we followed the waitress and this man out to the patio. He told the waitress which table to seat us at, slammed the chair into the table and said “AQUI!” To us and we took a seat. She informed us the menu was on the wall, so we looked through it to see what they offered. We waited another ten minutes before he reappeared, no water was brought nor were we asked for a drink order when all the locals seated inside at the bar were already half lit when we arrived. My husband was visibly upset, and we told him that we were leaving due to the lack of respect. Only then did he apologize, twice - which shows he did know he was nasty to us for no reason. We will never return, and I sincerely hope management gets involved but doubt they will seeing the other poor reviews for similar treatment of customers by the staff. Sad to see in an island with very friendly people. We ended up at Bananas and had an amazing meal with a wonderful, funny waiter named Richard!More

Average service; average food. The food that I had was so salty I could barely eat it. No one else in our party was thrilled with their entrees either, and they took a long time to come out.
Don't be in a hurry if you go here. Everyone is on island time and you should be too. Wait staff was great. Prices great. And food delicious and great presentation. My first mofongo, it was delicious. The chicken tacos were very tasty.
