Disappointing. Slow, inattentive service. Mediocre food. Overpriced. Tourist focused. This restaurant is understaffed and coasting on its reputation. I regret suggesting it for my friends last night in SXM.

Very good! Steamed shrimp - fun atmosphere! Somewhat Americanized. Went twice while in St Martin. Husband had Mahi sandwich which was very large!
Recommend reservations to ensure you get in, or you could be turned away. We showed up and had to book for the following night. I'm sure glad we decided to go back next night. Fresh warm bread to start. My husband had the claw chowder,...and it was awesome (he gave me a bit). My friend had the surf &turf special, which was 1.5 pd lobster and filet mignon with side. He was very pleased. My husband and I shared the 20 oz Rib eye. Melt in your mouth. They brought the wrong side and returned with the correct one, so we both got a side and did not have to share. It was nice they did this. The restaurant was on the marina, so you had a great view of beautiful yachts. Service was quick, and prices were reasonable. There are a lot of options for seafood choices. Lobster is their specialty. They had huge ones if you wanted. I definitely recommend this restaurant for ambiance and quality of food taste and options.More
Amazing restaurant and fantastic staff. Went on first night in SXM at 7pm and no tables or bars seats available. That's a good sign. Went back the second night solo and sat at the bar and was not disappointed. Started with clam chowder and soooo...tasty! My entre was the gilled salmon and wow! Has to be some of the best salmon I have had. A great experience with amazing views of Marina. Tiny boats lol. Now if you want lobster, you need to go here, some the biggest I have seen. You pick your own and away you go. Reserve in advance so you wont be let down.More
The experience here was amazing. Chusi was our server and she was helpful and friendly. The lobster was delicious. Did not have room for dessert unfortunately lol.
Skipjack's never fails. The meals are consistently very good in a relaxed, if a bit noisy, atmosphere. It is a stop for us each year that we visit SXM.
I am saddened to write this review. Our group of friends has been coming to this restaurant for many years (some from when they initially opened). We have always enjoyed the food and tolerated the slow service for years. So much for loyalty. Unfortunately, this...time our group of 16 people made a reservation two months in advance (knowing it’s high season). We called to confirm the same day for 7:30pm. When we arrived for our reservation, Sarah informed us that they had given our table away because we did not arrive at 7pm. We tried to explain nicely, and she rudely discarded our efforts and reservation, and made no attempt to satisfy our situation. We spoke to Denis (restaurant manager), at first he didn’t quite believe us, but then later (after showing our phone call log) he was apologetic and said he could try to squeeze us in. Such an unfortunate situation that didn’t need to happen, and certainly didn’t need to be handled in that manner. Astras (next door) was more than happy to accommodate and everything was excellent. Bye Skip Jacks. I hope you gain future loyal customers, since you just lost our five families.More
I have eaten at this restaurant several times on past vacations and always enjoyed the food and service. Went there during Christmas week 2023 and the service was ridiculously slow, the mussels were small and over cooked, and the grilled Mahi was over done and...dry. Bottom line....don't go there when busy!More
Great view, great food, higher end. $135 USD for family of 5. Seared tuna salad is off the charts. Lots of yachts docked and you can see the little sharks get fed by the restaurant staff. Very friendly. Don’t forget to order the conch for...an appetizer and Carib beer.More
Excellent service and delicious food! Friendly and knowledgeable staff. I would recommend wholeheartedly!
We enjoyed the restaurant so much that we ate here twice during our vacation. Great waterfront view, food, and drinks! Lobsters were huge!
We had high expectations based on other reviews but had a forgettable experience. Went there on a busy Friday night expecting great seafood but started the meal with warm, bad oysters and burned crab cakes that were more cake than crab. Scallops verged on overdone...and companion struggled to debone her red snapper at table. Wish we'd skipped this place.More
We had a great time and loved the atmosphere. This place is amazing. Right on the water looking over the beautiful bay. Endless choices of fresh fish and meat including pick your own lobster. The service was outstanding and the place was packed which shows...how on top of the customers the service is. The prices are fair and reasonable and the location is awesome. I highly recommend this place for any meal even just for drinks. Will definitely without question return.More
Great tasting seafood. Salmon and clam chowder soup was delicious and smooth. Damien was a great server. |Hope to be back before we leave. Such a pretty restaurant overlooking Simpson Bay. Beautiful weather!
I don't recommend this place. The lobster is prepared with with tons of garlic butter. I have to say that they did their best to pleased me after I returned my lobster but I was not satisfied with the taste of the food.
