Came over for their After Full Moon Party for drinks and s’mores. They had a bonfire, a DJ, and their drinks were great! Next time we come to Anegada, we will come here for dinner instead of Potter’s...I think Lobster Trap serves more lobster for dinner? Would definitely recommend for drinks on the beach though!

The food and the staff are both excellent and the wine list has a good mix of choices.
The resturant can be reached by walking along the beach but best of all they have a pier. If you have traveled on a private boat/yacht you can just transit via dingy and tie up right at the restaurant.
Be sure to make a Reservation well in advance plus you are required to send in your meal selection at least two days before you arrive for you meal. The staff is very responsive to email for reservations and menu selections.

Thanks for the nice review and information for boaters!! FYI to travelers, you need to place your orders by 5pm on the day you are dining, unless you are a large group (20+), in which case, the earlier the better. Safe travels!

Had some drinks with a couple Of the staff members and then came back that night for dinner. Dinner was good. Eating out on the dock at night is a great atmosphere with cool Lighting. Lobster trap is setup and designed nicer then the other bar/restaurants on the beach. Food was great, atmosphere was awesome, service was good. Only complaint is that we had a group of 7. Needed our meal in 4 checks. We asked before we ate if that was possible and they said yes. Then afterwards they say ohh we can’t spilt up the check by what you had. It’s up to you to spit it. They are obviously hoping that somebody just throws their card down and pays for it. It took us 30 mins splitting the check up and getting them to charge the 4 different cards.

This is the best meal we have had so far in the BVI’s. The pain killers were great and the conch fritters outstanding. The blackened lobster, lobster thermidor, and lobster Alfredo were delicious and the fish was cooked well. The goat cheese and pear salad and the Greek salads were excellent. Even the desserts were outstanding: sticky toffee pudding, creme brûlée and chocolate pudding and key lime pie. The atmosphere was fresh and clean with beautiful turquoise and orange color scheme and sleek outdoor lighting. The parents could have a quiet meal with soft music while the kids could play on the beach at sit by the fire pit. A great ending to our stay in Anagada

My first visit to the island of Anegada. Adventure in of itself but It was the highlight of my day dining at Lobster Trap. I am by no means a seafood aficionado but my service and meal were amplified by the absolute spot on service of one of the waitstaff Ms Vernika. This girl did very well checking up on me and making sure everything was okay. Felt like I was at home. I had the pleasure of visiting the Loose Mongoose based on her recommendations, though not as nice a service, the food was great. Missing Lobster Trap already. Highly recommend it folks. I will be back.

We visited the Lobster Trap as part of a Flotilla. Veterans of prior visits pointed us at the Lobster Trap. Elba was our server. She made the visit a marvelous dining experience from start to finish. She was present when we needed her and kept her distance being attentive but not obtrusive. Highly recommend asking for her! Wonderful experience!!
Although Lobster is the obvious specialty, the menu has many other options available for your culinary delight. Most of our table of 8 went for Lobster but several opted for fresh Red Snapper or the Coconut Shrimp and Conch Fritters. There was nary a complaint and we remarked at the ambience of the waterside dining venue.
Note: the Lobster Trap asks patrons to make reservations and preorder your selections. This works well and makes for speedy service compared to other dining venues. All the staff is very pleasant and eager to make your meal a memorable occasion.

This restaurant is properly named the Lobster Trap as the lobster here is large, succulent and well prepared . The views are amazing and the atmosphere casual. This is a must place to eat if you like Lobsters. The rest of the menu was excellent as well.

We ate at the lobster trap when we were on anegada is Jan 2022. It was one of the best meals we had during our stay and we were excited to return.
Sadly, this meal was a disappointment. We had to order our entire meal, including appetizers and sides prior to arrival. We are accustomed to ordering lobster in advance, but certainly not our entire meal from a cell phone menu. Why have them printed on the table at all? It was quite the challenge ordering for 7 people in advance and keeping it all straight.
We could tell immediately that the chef had changed.
The thing that prompted this review…One person in our party ordered snapper ceviche as an appetizer. An $18 appetizer. She asked for a couple extra chips to finish up the ceviche in her bowl and they wouldn’t provide any without paying for an additional order of chips.
Even though our meals were ordered in advance, one person in our party had to wait nearly 10 additional minutes to be served as the rest of our meals sat in front of us. No communication from our servers until we asked.
Our servers were all friendly and pleasant. Our complaints are management and policy issues.
It’s difficult to be grumpy about anything on this island… but this is probably our last time at the trap.

We appreciate all feedback and constructive criticism as we continually evaluate our operation to locate areas where we might improve the experience of our guests. We are sorry to read that your experience wasn't what you had hoped for. Lobster Trap Restaurant, like all restaurants on Anegada, have always recommended and requested our dinner guests pre-order their meals so that the kitchens have time to prepare the meals before the guest's arrival. We are currently evaluating if there is a more convenient way to offer the menu to our impending guests. We are also evaluating if and how we charge guests for additional food they order. It is a point well taken. In addition, after reviewing your dinner experience with our entire staff, we have ensured the kitchen procedures are followed concerning the timing of the presentation of the entire dinner order. Thank you again for your comments and we do hope you will try us again in the future.

We also ate both lunch and dinner at the Lobster Trap on Anegada. The coconut-crusted conch appetizer (my lunch) were wonderful, and I had it with dinner, too. Do not get the 1/2 or Full lobster for dinner, you are better with one of their Lobster preparations. A few of our lobsters were mushy and had to be replaced. I ate my dinner while others were eating dessert. Those who had meals from picked lobster were much happier.

This was our third visit in the last 3 months to the Lobster Trap in Anegada. We have also had lobster dinners on Jost van Dyke and other restaurants in the BVI. The lobster dinner At the Lobster Trap is excellent but make sure you try the Lobster Alfredo- delicious!!!

Every trip to the BIVI should include a trip to the Lobster Trap. Dine on the shore and under the stars.
The grilled lobster is tender and sweet. The customer service is fabulous especially if Elba is your host.

I am saddened to write this review, but feel I have to warn others about our experience here. 6 of our 10 Lobster dinners here were awful and mushy. The other 4 lobsters were only 1/2 mushy, leaving a few edible bites. This experience is one I would never want anyone else to face. Unfortunately our waitress never checked on our table after dropping off our food and no one in our party was speaking of their disgusting dinners until we got back on our boat. We were all shocked to hear the other person's was just as bad. Please do yourself a favor and go to the Wonky Dog, Potters, or any other establishment on Anegada.

Thank you for your visit and your time to write this review. We do value your feedback and we hope that you give us another chance in the future. As you can read by the previous reviews, we have a well-deserved great reputation for the quality of our food and service at Lobster Trap. We have procedures in place in our kitchen to insure we do not present unsatisfactory lobsters to our guests. Therefor unsatisfactory lobsters are very rare here at our restaurant. Certainly, to have numerous at one table and for it to go unreported at the time is a first for us. We have reviewed our procedures in the kitchen as well as well as service at the tables to insure this would or could not happen in the future. We highly recommend to our guests they mention any concerns or issues immediately while at the table so we may rectify the situation at the time. Thank you again for your input and we hope to see you in the future.

We are never disappointed with Lobster Trap. Red Snapper Cerviche, Blue Lip Mussels & Conch Fritters great! The wood grilled lobsters with baked potato & vegetables delicious! Our waitperson was very friendly, service was 5 star. My favorite restaurant in all of BVI’s.

My husband and I have had lobster on many islands. From Barbados, Grenada, Antigua, St Lucia...and others. This spot was THE BEST LOBSTER meal we have ever had in the Caribbean. The wait staff was on point. We ordered from our captian on the boat earlier in the day, then were whisked away on our dingy to shore to get the best table and sunset. The lobster was gigantic and delicious with rice and beans or baked potato. I love Maine lobster, and this beats it!

We saw this as one of our options when we moored our boat at Anegada. We passed it riding scooters so stopped in to check it out. We loved how it looked and that we'd be sitting at the water's edge having dinner that night. You need to order your meal early so they can prepare, including catching your fresh lobster! The meal was everyone's favorite of our trip! Excellent service, delicious food and drinks and in a beautiful setting. If you're looking for an elevated experience rather than touristy - this is it!
