My kids and I went to this restaurant the first day we got on the Island. I read that the food was possibly the best and needed to visit, since it was very close to where we were staying. I ordered the chicken, with red beans and rice. I honestly wasn't that impressed. The kids ate it, but not all... More

There is a reason that this is one of the top destinations on St Croix. The food is excellent! The chicken is a must have (don't forget the sauce) but they have other amazing dishes as well that vary depending on the day. Excellent ribs, pork, oxtail, fish stew, and johnny cakes. Ice cold beer at the bar. Be prepared... More

Locals hang out featuring good food at a great value. Service is fast and efficient. Went here for lunch 3 days of the 8 days we were there recently. Plenty of food if you get the dinner. Try the johnny cakes-like a beignet or flat plain donut-just a hint of sweetness-fried(I know, but such a treat!). Homemade rice and beans... More

If you like rotisserie, wood fire chicken this is a must stop. Roadside eatery with some of the best chicken I've ever had.

People flock to the chicken shack daily. Good local food at a fair price. Make it part of your stop on your way around St. Croix

Lots of times, places like this get raves on sites like this one, but turn out to be a let-down or a tourist trap. Not this one. Had lunch there twice while on the island, and worth it both times. First, an interesting cross section of people: tourists, blue-collar working people, people in suits. It's an open-air dining experience with... More
