AMA is a high end dinner restaurant with a talented chef (Brandon or Brendon). Seafood is locally sourced, their menu is dedicated to sustainable and local items. Property is unique and view can’t be beat. There happened to be a fire dancer show the night we ate there. Our meals were delicious. Brendon customized an appetizer for us based on our dietary preferences. The only downside is that the bar staff who should greet people who drive in were not very engaging or welcoming. But, five stars because This was the best meal we had on the island.

This is a once in a life time dining experience. We loved dining in the waves! He and I travel a good bit, but we most definitely prefer to stay budget friendly. Ama was a bit of a splurge for us, but the experience is very much worth every penny. Waves crash 10 ft away from your table which over looks the ocean. We loved watching the sun set as we enjoyed a romantic honeymoon dinner. Reservations are a must because they are not seating to full capacity with social distance guidelines. We started off with one of the small plates. The lobster tortellini. It was served perfectly al dente and ohh so delicious. My husband ordered the fresh catch swordfish which was prepared pan seared with a almond tapenade served over pasta cooked with zucchini, peppers and sun-dried tomatoes in a Parmesan cream sauce. He said it was the best fish he ever tasted. So many flavors blended together perfectly. I ordered the braised short rib in puff pasty. Very much delicious but I was regretting not ordering the amazing seafood. I stole a few bites of my husbands meal. We finished off the night with dessert. 10 out of 10

We were so happy to hear of Ama’s reopening. The food was delectable and our server was friendly, efficient, and precise. We did not have to wait long for our dishes, which were works of art made with fresh and local ingredients. This is one of the prettiest sunset views on island and the crashing waves and tiki torches complete the picturesque scene. We can’t wait to visit again soon.

6 of us went here to celebrate a 60th birthday and were sadly disappointed. They brought 1 relatively small bottle of water to the table, which we drank down immediately. We waited 15 minutes before a waiter showed up again. We asked for more water (which we had to repeat 3 more times during the very long evening.). We also ordered appetizers, because we were starving. But we waited 45 minutes for them to arrive. In the interim, we ordered the main course. Fresh lobster was on the menu, but we were told the lobster had only just been delivered and we shouldn’t order it unless we wanted to wait another hour. So, even thought that’s what most of us had wanted, we didn’t order it. We finished our appetizers and then waited another 45 minutes for our main course to arrive. In the meantime, every table around us (some wha had arrived and ordered before us and some who had arrived and ordered after us) all got beautiful lobster dinners. And just to make sure it all took even longer, each entree was on a separate plate from each side dish, and the waiter carried only 1 plates at a time from a downstairs kitchen. So the delivery of our meal to our table took more than 15 minutes for everything to finally arrive. Most of it was cold by the time we finally got to eat it, due to the slowness of the delivery, and also to the fact that we didn’t have any cutlery. We had told the waiter on his first trip that we didn’t have any cutlery, but he didn’t bring it till all the food had arrived 15 minutes later.
And then the meals were very average. There was nothing overly wrong with any of it; it was ok. It just wasnt’ great. And it was less great because it was cold by the time we got to eat it.
We wanted dessert, but were told the only thing they had left was cheesecake and there were only 2 pieces left. We took them both and shared. That was actually the highlight of the meal; it was quite good.
We were at this restaurant for 2.5 hours, and not because we were lingering over drinks and coffee. We all had 1 pre-dinner drink, no one had wine, no one had coffee. The service was just unbearably slow.
On a positive note, the view is amazing, and the live music was very pleasant. But they couldn’t make up for poor service and average, but very expensive, food.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us feedback. I have brought this to our team's attention and we have made changes since this time. During the remodel of our downstairs dining area we unfortunately had to have everything in our upstairs bar area which can sometimes create longer food delivery. That has been resolved with the reopening of our ocean-side dining. We are at the mercy of our local fisherman for our seafood supply and the timing of when they bring it as well. That sometime does leave an unfulfilled demand around our lobster. We are always evolving our menu and improving our team, please come see us again so we can exceed your expectations.

Such a beautiful setting by the sea. The servers are great and the bartender did a great job mixing drinks. But the chef in the kitchen the night we were there wasn't at the top of the game. We were served overcooked and slightly burned food. Not good considering the cost of the meals there. Given what others have said, I think it will be a while before we stop here again.

We went to AMA upon arriving to the island on New Year’s eve. We picked the restaurant for its location near our air bb and available reservation. The view is nice and food was good, not great. The menu was prix fixe at $85 pp for 3 courses that were not anything fancy or remarkable. Had we known this, we would have gone to Rowdy Joes down the road for excellent food at better value. Service was good and atmosphere a little stuffy for us.

The ambience at this restaurant is fabulous given its location right on the water. The staff were not as professional as I expected. We were seated late and also served later than most of the other guests who arrived at the same time or after us. The staff began cleaning and putting away dishes and cleaning all of the folios and being very chatty right next to our table.

Can’t beat the setting. Beautiful and a truly magical sunset. Then the service takes it south, even for “island time”, one total mishap after another. Ate here twice this week and they couldn’t find our reservation both times. 30 minutes to get water. Raw steak served and then told it’ll be replaced with a fresh cut, only to be replaced with a burnt version of what you just sent back. Should have been removed from the bill. No “sorry” or “let me get you a drink”. It’s not exactly a cheap meal either. It’s a new place, so hopefully they grow, and make it unforgettable in the best way.

We enjoyed a very lovely dinner out while vacationing for spring break. The view was absolutely gorgeous and we watched the sunset. I had a salad and entree special of the day and they were both fantastic! My husband had the short rib puff pastry and loved it. The server was kind enough to suggest a simple pasta dinner for my 10 year old and that was perfect. We both had signature cocktails that were superb—Jungle Bird and Brown Derby. We wish we’d known about this at the beginning of our trip because we would have gone twice or to the Sunset Bar connected. We made a reservation in advance of our trip otherwise it appears we would not have gotten in. Overall excellent choice and a highlight meal on our trip!

Our group consists of two small families, both of us with 12 year old daughters. We had reservations and were sat promptly upon arrival at this quaint little restaurant. The atmosphere was great, you are right on the water here, the waves crashing in on the rocks and tide pools are part of the experience. Our server was great, he did an excellent job helping the girls out with selecting an entrée off an all adult menu (no kids menu here). He did offer up an alternative if they insisted they didn't want any of the items available to make them some pasta with butter sauce, but convinced them to try some new things out in the long run and they both loved what they got and ate every bite. I had the grilled Mahi special which was great, others had the filet, the Lobster Pappardelle, and the Porcini & Beef Pappardelle. All excellent choices, lots of clean plates. Desert was great too, we had the Crack Pie and the Frozen Chocolate Soufflé, both excellent. Would definitely go back, but there are so many great choices on the island, sadly it won't be on this trip.

AMA did not disappoint! I selected this restaurant for my birthday dinner with my family and friends, this by far was the best selection I’d made during our four days in St. Croix.
AMA has breath taking views that are literally on the water! It, was intimate, sexy and romantic all wrapped up in one! Although their menu options were very limited, we all found something delicious to dine on — to include one in our group with a seafood allergy.
Our waiter was great, very helpful! We ended up being “stranded” by our taxi driver from our hotel and our waiter was so accommodating that he’d had someone come to get us. AMA was truly a special restaurant with spectacular views, you will not be disappointed!

You can’t beat the setting here! Wow, right on the water, waves lapping at your feet. I visited with 2 friends, and we started at the hotel bar on the upper level, and we were entirely turned off that a $11 serving of wine was presented in a cheap plastic cup. Nothing tastes good in those cups. But the AMA restaurant is a separate operation, you descent the stairs into paradise. No cheap plastic here! I ordered a Firing Squad cocktail with tequila and other things and it was fantastic. We ate light, one had steak tartar, one had the crab and shrimp tart, and I had the lobster tortellini. All absolutely fantastic. We split a dessert consisting of poached pear, an amazing fruity, flanlike something and whipped cream. Yum galore. The service was great, personable, knowledgeable, efficient, a total joy. Yes, the restaurant is off the beaten path, but we’ll worth the drive. The prices were entirely reasonable since we had small plates. Next time I would probably go a little later, when the sun is further down, as it can be hot.

I will be fair and honest, but our experience was terrible. We had reservations at 7:30pm . We arrived a little early and were told to wait at the bar, no problem there. We were called to the table at 8:30, still not an issue with us. We ordered drinks and appetizers. After waiting fifteen or twenty minutes for appetizers, still no worries here, the server approached our table to ask for our Entrees. We responded by saying we would like to enjoy appetizers first and then decide. We were promptly told that the kitchen closed at 9:00, at which point my wife became very upset at this notion. We had just been seated for less than twenty minutes, no apps yet. It really ruined the great romantic setting on the water and a nice date night for my wife and I. The server did apologize, but you can't take it back. Thanks damnit! Food was great though!

We spend our winters on St.Croix and have always enjoyed our visits to AMA. But last night’s dinner was especially tasty with great service from Renee and her colleagues. We had a reservation, they seated us immediately and we enjoyed delicious cocktails. Before ordering the Mahi dish, I asked if it was fresh. Renee responded that it was and was flown on from Puerto Rico (no other STX restaurant has had fresh mahi recently). Unlike other reviewers, my husband and I thought the mahi preparation was delicious and our daughter enjoyed the lobster pasta. Our starters were the Caesar Salad (with a twist that I liked) and pork belly and shrimp (the only negative of the night…apparently they loved the shrimp and sauce but not the pork belly).
We also were surprised that AMA’s prices didn’t seem to have increased from 2022 and did not seem too high for the service, food and view.
We will be back often this year even though it’s a bit of a hike out there from the East End.

What an absolutely amazing place, so fortunate we found AMA and got a chance to eat and celebrate there! The location is absolutely stunning, right on the swells of Cane Bay... staff is friendly and attentive... food is absolutely delicious. We had such a great experience our first night there that we ended up going back the very next night. This restaurant is a definite must when on St. Croix!!!
