We tend to stay away from "hotel" like restaurants, but didn't have a lot of options for breakfast on Exuma, so decided to try Palapa as the menu looked nice and we saw some good reviews. The setting is pretty and our server was really...nice and seemed to be working hard to please, but I have to be honest that it took a really long time to get our food (not blaming the waiter) and the food was just "meh" -- typical hotel food, nothing special. This was breakfast -- maybe dinner is better, but we didn't want to take a chance, so we went elsewhere for dinner. The food wasn't horrible, but my family of 4 agreed it was the worst meal we had on the island. If hotel food is your comfort zone, then you might like it. Just not for us. We had higher quality food and better service at Cocoplum Bistro, Shirley's, Houseman on the Bay, Julian's Grill, Sharie's, and Chat N Chill.More

15 dollar glass of warm bland Chardonnay says it all. But hey, you are in the Exhumas and the weather is fine…

Shout out to Dario at the Palapa Grill Exuma! The attention to detail that he provided was off the charts! His friendliness, food knowledge, and overall the experience was one to be noted. I was bitten by about 1 million Noseeums … and he provided...the antidote LIMES! We will definitely return and always ask for Dario to be our bartender! If you go, please ask for him and tell him Lisa and Mike sent you! Ask him for the Sandman shotMore

We had 3 hours until our flight left and decided to go to Palapa Grill. ZERO REGRETS. Carlos was our server and was top notch and so accommodating! Food was yummy- we had conch fritters, crack conch and 3 other appetizers. Only one we left...untouched was their hummus. Beautiful view.More

Relatively well-executed and consistent. We're told that it's one of the nicer restaurants on the island, although we haven't had occasion to eat much elsewhere.

One of the best scenic views ever, unveiling a myriad of blue waters caressing a spectacular stretch of sugar-white beach. The menu offers a nice selection of International and American entrees including fresh seafoods. Grilled lobster is outstanding. The chocolate cake For desert is a...must. A little pricey but worth every cent. Go early, bring your camera, take a walk to the beach.More

We came here for my husbands birthday and Father’s Day. We ordered off the Father’s Day menu. The seafood risotto was so not good. Hardly any seafood in it at all. The lobster that was in it was so chewy. Yuck. We had like 3...shrimps and two little bites of fish in the risotto. It was all lost in the risotto which was a big mush mess! Had the desert of a brownie with ice cream. Sounds good? Noooooo flavor in it at all! Do they not put sugar in it? Yuck! We both had a few bites of dinner which we both hated, and then the brownie was not even edible. We left hungry!! Don’t go here. Total waste of time and $$!!!More

yes they do take credit cards. The restaurant is open to everyone, so they take cash and cards from people not staying at the resort.

I dont think you need to be a guest to eat there. Just call in advance for a reservation. Lunch was from 12 to late in the afternoon and dinner was from 6 or 6:30 if I remember correctly.
