My partner and I had a very relaxing weekend recently. The Whistlefield Inn is a great place to stay in a fantastic location. Good food, cosy rooms, very comfortable beds and friendly staff. In the past we have had dinner and drinks and stayed here a few years ago. However since then a few changes have taken place. Under new... More

Stayed in the 19th March, using a Groupon we got for Christmas. On arrival we were quickly checked in and shown to our room, room 5. Room was clean and cosy. The weather wasn't great so we decided to spend the day indoors. We went to the bar and had a few drinks and also an evening meal. The staff... More

We found the 'Whistlefield Inn' today after me and my friend had been visiting the beautiful Puks Glen just up the road from the Inn. It was a last minute decision to eat out as I'm a former resident of Dunoon and my friend still resides there and we both didn't fancy anything from the main town as most places... More

Groupon deal. Husband & I arrived friday afternoon. Nice reception from Christina, shown to our room but had to turn the heating on immediately due to the inclement weather. Rural location, so we remained in hotel all day. Disappointed in the length of time it took for our 3 course dinner to be served. Approx 2hrs. I opted for the... More

We had a 2 night Groupon stay with dinner on 1st night and bfast on both days as a Christmas gift from family. On arrival there is no reception area. The barman Chris checked us in. He took us upstairs to our room which was room 2. The room itself looked like an attic room and was very compact. There... More

We were given a Groupon voucher for a 2 night stay-dinner on one night and continental breakfast each morning as a gift. What a lovely quaint and quirky building with beautiful scenery all around. We had a triple room, so there was plenty of space, shower cubicle quite small, but delivered a hot and powerful shower! The atmosphere is nice... More

We visited the Whistlefield inn for an evening meal. Very nice surroundings, good choice of ales. We were taken to our table, 4 adults, 1 menu, and a grumpy waitress, who took our order. Starters arrived 15 minutes later, followed by a cold main course an hour after that. Yes, a gammon steak, and a local burger were both only... More

New people everywhere so we knew none of the staff. All were excellent and we enjoy local banter, not subservient service. Decided to go for something simple with my wife having trout and prawns with baby potatoes and prawn sauce. She thought it was very tasty. I had haddock and chips and they serve it with the usual salad, lemon,... More

I had the Capsicum curry and my girlfriend had arancini as a main and both were perfect. The service was excellent and the owner and waiter were very attentive. This wasn't my first visit and will certainly not be my last.
