We placed a carry out order from Maple Street during a recent trip to Miramar beach. Everything was SO GOOD! There were several choices that sounded great but I ended up choosing the Squawking Goat and it was delicious. I stole a bite of The Farmer from my son, and it was also tasty. We ordered chocolate chip pancakes for the kids, and they were happy it came with fresh strawberries. We also ordered the grits as well the hash browns to share. They were fine, but not quite as great as the biscuits. This company seems to be growing quickly and I’m happy to know I’ll be able to get these biscuits in my area.

Where do I start we went on a rainy day so there was a line but it went faster than expected. When we got in the staff was super friendly and on point with their service. And, most importantly the food was the best breakfast food we have ever had. The “five and dime” is not only the best breakfast sandwich we’ve ever eaten but maybe the best fried chicken as well! This place is definitely our new go to for breakfast or brunch! See for yourself I promise you won’t be disappointed!

Staying in Destin, there are few meal options that don't have a line. Employee's return to work hit practically every location hard, including Maple Street, but we didn't mind the wait to order. By the way, you order upon entry and then grab a seat. Order to eat in or for takeaway. They hustle as fast as they can, but aren't pressuring you with an unhappy face when you step up to order. The server was kind to every customer, patient, and one of the most polite I've experienced. It may have slowed down the overall ordering, but hard to argue with his genuine approach. The menu descriptions were dead on and the portions were large (watch orders coming out to size up what you order). Often you'll have families in line, but in a vacation town I'm OK with that too. Just anticipate a line, arrive early, and you should be impressed!

There's nothing better for breakfast than a pan of hot, fresh biscuits with whatever else you decide to put on them; but this place has struck out twice for me with cold, hard biscuits, and service. Over a year ago, we picked up a half-dozen "fresh" biscuits, only to find out when we got them home, (less than 10 mins. away), they were hard and cold. They definitely lack the freshness of home-maid biscuits. Giving them credit for what may have been an off-day in biscuit production, I stopped back in last week and ordered a simple biscuit with bacon and cheese. The directions to the order counter were confusing, and their were multiple finished orders stacked beside each other at the pickup counter. Since I had never eaten inside the restaurant, I had no idea what my order would look like, and I reached for what I thought looked like what I had ordered. The clerk shouted at me that I was picking up the wrong order, bringing attention to my ignorance of their process of getting food. I sat down, bit into my biscuit and it was as hard as a rock, the biscuit was room temperature, at best, and the bacon and cheese was nothing more than generic. (Nothing to write home about, and definitely not worth recommending.) I could have kicked my self for even going back to this place, but everyone deserves an extra chance. Maple Street Biscuit Company in Miramar Beach failed twice.

We decided to give ourselves a special treat on our last morning at the beach. When we arrived there was a line, but that was expected. What wasn’t expected was the hour and a half wait for our food. I felt sorry for the workers. They were doing the best they could do, but it was a mess. Shortly after we arrived they began telling individuals that it would be an hour wait for food. Many customers asked for refunds. We were told to get drinks after we paid. However, there was a sign that stated we were to wait on the staff to serve them. There was no one there for 15 minutes. They were also out of sweetener and cream. The waffles were a delicious lunch, even though we went for breakfast. 😬

Today was a tough day for Maple Street Biscuit Company. We ABSOLUTELY love this restaurant and we look for one, any place we may be visiting. But today was an exception. We ordered 2 Squawk and Goats, one Five and Dime, one Chicken club and one Three layer cake, all with beverages. The food was good, except for the Three Layer cake. :( When we first got it, there was very visable pieces of uncooked sausage in the gravy. We sent it back, kindly asking for it to be cooked. The person working in the back was NOT at all gracious. When the replacement came out, it was uncooked, but warmed up hash browns, with a little mushroom gravy and an egg on top. There was NO evidence of cheese, etc., in the dish. I took it back and asked, kindly again, why it wasn't cooked and where was the cheese, etc. The cook was again NOT happy to be questioned. She told me there WAS cheese in the dish and I spread out the potatoes and asked her where was the cheese and the other ingredients. She went to the cooler, and brought over the prepared hash browns and showed me, "there is cheese and there is cheese and there is cheese". I told her again, that there was none in our dish. She said that there was and that she had made it herself. I asked her if she was having a bad day and she said she was and that she had to drive 5 hours to work there to fill in for a short staff. I told her I was sorry that she was having such a bad day. We drove an hour to eat there and were treated as through is was our fault that the food was not cooked properly.

This was the first time we visited this restaurant and we really liked it. My husband had the chicken biscuit and he really liked it. It was not your average size chicken biscuit either. My son and I had the grits bowl either over easy eggs. I did find the eggs over cooked but the gouda grits were delicious. The frosted cinnamon biscuits were so good that we went and picked some up to take back home with us.

My family had the Five and Dime with a kids chocolate chip waffle. Every bite was delicious and well worth the small price to pay for our breakfast. We had both sausage and the veggie (mushroom) gravy. It was the best I’ve ever had in my life. The kids waffle was delicious by itself, but when dipped into the warm syrup, your tastebuds have fireworks. Indoor/outdoor seating.

Took the whole family, wife, daughter, her boyfriend and the grandsons for breakfast and everyone enjoyed what they had. I prefer light and fluffy biscuits, but these are very dense, yet I really enjoyed them which for me is unusual. Next trip to the Emerald Coast will see us back again.

Came here for a quick morning coffee and the biscuits smelled so good, I ended up getting a flaky biscuit too - all to go, so can't rate what it's like to eat the other food items or dine-in experience. I got a maple vanilla latte with almond milk and it was delicious! The biscuit too was amazing. What I really liked was the service which was friendly, and instead of asking for your name for your order, they ask for your favorite song or a theme song and that's how they call out your order - unique and fun idea!

Fun and busy place for breakfast. Counter service. Indoor and outdoor seating. Rather than a number you choose a character’s name to be called when your food is ready. Not expensive but more than what you would pay away from the beach (what isn’t in Florida). My husband had the Sticky Maple Biscuit. Delicious and filling. I had the Risky Biscuit. Heavily seasoned (pepper?) but best gravy I have had. Come early.

So SAD - Returned after 1 year for breakfast. Figured waiting on line was a good sign - NOT ! I didn't mind wiping table down - not uncommon in serve yourself kind of restaurant but the napkin dispenser was caked with dust & I didn't want to sit next to it so I wiped it down also. It got worse as food was awful. Biscuit mediocre, cheese & spinach so salty I left half over. Husband's potatoes & eggs also overly salty. I will not return. The Florida Panhandle beach area is loaded with fantastic restaurants.

Something out of the ordinary breakfast and lunch. What a treat to watch the biscuits being made by hand and then fresh from the oven and topped with crispy fried chicken and goat cheese and other goodies. The gravy is thick and creamy and they claim it has a kick but I didn’t get any of it. Another place to put on my list of places to return to.

Tasty biscuits, but on this particular visit, everything else about the experience was frustrating. Granted it was a Thursday lunchtime on a Spring Break week, but why would you have only 4 employees working? 3 of the 4 showed no sense of hustle or purposeful effort. No apologies for slow service. They were out of waffles (but there was no effort to inform the long line of people). I estimated that we might have a 20-30 minute wait upon arrival, but it took approximately 90 minutes just to get to the ordering locale. Almost 2 hours from arrival to departure. Coffee carafes were either empty or cold, sugar dispenser empty, one specialty coffee order was forgotten, nobody was busing tables, and the two primary employees interacting with customers (order taker and food server) were not wearing masks. Every request was politely dealt with, but everything took 3-4 times longer than it should have. A real shame, because the food is excellent, but we won’t be coming back.

My family of 10 visiting from New Orleans had a very great experience. The service was exceptional and the food was definitely a 10/10. EVERYTHING was delicious! The chicken was very tasty and tender, waffles were fluffy, and those grits were creamy and seasoned perfectly. This will be our go to breakfast spot every time we are in Destin, Fl. Good luck Mason at your store in Ohio. -Monique
