The atmosphere in the old restaurant was no less than sublime (traditionally Danish in character) and the quality of the food, the beer and the wine was exquisite. We stumbled upon this gem tucked away in a cozy back-alley on the banks of a calm-flowing...river and popped in for lunch. The experience was so positive that we decided to make the trip back again for dinner the following the day (a 45 min drive from our hotel), and these two dining experiences ended up making the highlight of our little 3-day excursion to Denmark.More

Visiting family in the area who took us for lunch. It's a buffet lunch and the food and variety were very good and delicious. Best of all they cater for gluten free and dietary needs.

If you visit this restaurant make sure to order á la carte, as the buffét is just as boring as elsewhere. But the menu is nice, and the room cozy. Specially if you get a table at the window with a view to the creek.

Charming restaurant that seemed to have a menu that was traditionally Danish with a modern twist. We went for the set menu of some sort and the mackerel ceviche starter was stunning. We had chosen the beef main course which arrived and looked lovely. However...the potatoes to accompany it were uncooked and inedible. They were taken away to be redone but we didn't get them back until we had virtually eaten the rest of the main course (which was nice). Sadly they still were not very well cooked. Apparently there had been a hiccup earlier with a new chef and the vegetable prep, it was unfortunate that they couldn't remedy this earlier or explained that there might be a wait so that all of the elements of our main course could arrive together. They did offer us free dessert/coffee and were very apologetic. It was a shame as this could have been our best meal on our trip to Denmark.More

Great location, peaceful atmosphere, friendly service and delicious beef. Aberdeen-Angus beef topped with truffle sauce was just excellent. Exciting menu, but I never enjoy seeing crocodile on the menu. If visiting Sæby, its´definitely worth locating this hidden gem. My best meal in 2017. No doubt.

Antique interior and a calm atmosphere, good service and lovely food. The food was well prepared, interesting ingredients, personally explained by the chef, topped off with coffee outside on the deck in the evening sunshine, well worth a visit.

Really fine food. High class of all the food. The restaurant is situated in the old area of Sæby and you can ask for a table where you can have a grelt view of Sæby å.

We had the luncheon buffet, which is always very good value for money. All dishes are appetising. It is difficult to restrain oneself from partaking from all.

It is hard not to love this place. View to the river, old style interieur and extremely well served food makes this a great evening out at this place. I will guess that this is the best you ever will get in this areas. Really!

There is a fantastic view if you have a table at the Northern windovs. You have a very fine view of Saeby Aa (stream). The food is high class and they do change the menu for the time of the year. Prices are ok, not...cheap, but the food is worth the price.More
