Had a very nice dinner in a lovely refurbished restaurant. Good choice on the menu and very well presented. The experience would have been so much better if the service had been better. No welcome, no eye contact and difficulty understanding English.

Whilst looking for a venue to have a meal for four next week, we visited the Meikleour Arms this morning. We were given a very warm welcome by a member of your bar staff. We were very pleasantly surprised with the extensive refurbishment. Each public...More

Ate here with friends a couple of weeks ago and was very impressed with the refurbishment. Classy touches throughout and well done to the design team. The food was excellent and I would thoroughly recommend the seafood salad. Floated every boat in the harbour as...More

Visited recently for a family lunch during the week. We were lucky to have booked in advance as it was full and we were seated at a very nice window table for 6. The menu had plenty on offer with some unusual dishes such as...More

Many thanks for your lovely review, we are so glad you had a good experience. We are delighted you enjoyed the trout, they were caught on a local loch by one of our fishermen! We look forward to welcoming you again soon.

My wife and I visited for lunch stop while on a road trip. We took a seat in the pub and ordered a couple of ales. They had a decent selection of whiskies so I ordered a premium Scotch whisky. Afterward, we had a nice...More

Dear Mark, I am terribly sorry your experience at the Meikleour Arms didn't end well, what a shame considering that everything else was very much as it should be with us, good quality country food and the friendly welcome that you would expect in a...More

Stopped here on our journey and was so glad we did. Friendly welcoming staff served us great food and the best pot of coffee I have tasted in ages! The tablet served was also delicious.

Generally a very high standard. It is the first time I have been since it was made over, personally I find it a little soulless compared with before but I imagine it will be more practical and that I will be in the minority!

Before deciding on our food we spoke to other diners, (locals and visitors) who shared their experiences and offered suggested recommendations and these did not disppoint. The black pudding scotch eggs brought a smile to my husbands face whilst the scallops and pork belly were...More

Having been here before, we had high expectations and were really let down. The service was poor: no eye contact, smiles, or any attempt to engage with the customers. We had to wait while people who had arrived after us were served first. The waitress...More

Description
This destination dining spot is set inside the historic Meikleour Hotel, a picturesque, ivy-covered inn located between Blairgowrie and Perth. The home-made bistro-style menu here attracts food-lovers from far and wide, and the cosy wood-panelled dining room - with its tartan carpets and white linens - has become a local institution. All the food here is prepared in-house, from the stock-pots to the puddings, and fresh fish is delivered daily from the boats in Aberdeen, and the wine list is hand-picked. Ideal for romantic meals and celebrations, the Meileour has a feel-good home-away-from-home atmosphere, and star dishes include the beef pie flavoured with the hotels own Perth-brewed Lure of Meikleour ale.
