Very warm welcome, Good Old Boy on tap, huge garden with view of the hills. We didn't eat there, but it's a lovely place for a drink. Real pubby atmosphere.

After receiving a very unfriendly reception at the pub round the corner, we left without buying anything and came here. What a difference! We felt immediately welcome, and went to sit in their garden (which has gorgeous views), to choose from the menu. We only had baguettes but they were delicious. The service was excellent. And we left feeling very... More

Last minute decision! Everything was lovely! Food was great and very reasonable. Beer was London pride and perfect. Will definitely be back to enjoy more from the talented chef! Open fire too!

Food is fantastic. I ordered fish and chips. Lots of home made chips and crispy batter! Husband ordered steak pie and had lots of big chunks of steak. It was a proper pie and not a stew with a lid. Friday evening and no one else eating! Such a shame because the food was great! Very helpful staff and a... More

Let's face it,this place has gone through a bit of a switch back in recent times. I'm very happy to say, though, that it's now getting back to it's best.John, who's remained his remarkably affable self throughout, and Franka are making a real effort. Chef Damien has been on attachments to broaden his experience and it shows. The place has the real local... More

Cycled out to this pub for Sunday lunch. Very friendly and helpful bar and serving staff. We sat outside. We both ordered fish and chips where the staff were more than happy to slightly teak the menu for us (salad rather than mushy peas.) Lovely fish, nicely battered and piping hot with chips and side salad as requested. All condiments... More

We visited twice while we were in the village - great beer and the steak pie was the BEST I've ever eaten. Full of chunky bits of proper steak. A bargain at £14. The staff are really friendly and I can't recommend this place highly enough.

One of two pubs in the village and to my mind this is very much the better of the two. Welcoming and friendly landlord and nothing too much trouble. Third time I have eaten here and each time it has been very good. Can't vouch for the beer as I'm a cider man - Stowford Press on draught. Prices are... More

Came here for a meal after playing golf. Lovely steak pie and trimmings. Pleasant staff. Old fashioned country pub and none the worse for it. Reasonable prices. All round good value.

Popped in for eats, tempted by the menu online, disappointed that my initial choice wasn't on but that is life and the landlord explained why and when it would be. Under going re-decoration, walls just been painted and from the outside, don't be fooled, far bigger than it looks with a conservatory and large garden out the back. Had the... More
