What have they done to this place? All the 'furniture' is old and tatty gymnastics equipment and science chairs from your school days! Why on earth would I (or could I) put a drink down on a pommel horse?!? My friends and I turned up for cocktails before a night out and the staff were so slow and disinterested and... More

Overpriced in an obscene way. Obviously cheap ingredients to anyone who's ever left their own house. Pretending to be a bit like somewhere good from a bigger town. The drinks are average but you'll never find out because you can't get to the bar. Yes it's one of those places where they let everyone stand in the way. Hateful.

Went in for drinks on Saturday to see what the new HQ was like. Positives: Staff exceptionally friendly and helpful. Food looked and smelt good. Negatives: Odd layout with middle table/bar. New furniture feels a bit cheap. Beer choice was pretty rubbish: Coors Light, Staropramen, Blue Moon and Wolf Rock. Had Wolf Rock and it was not good.

Stopped coming here a few months ago, after my last review, but decided to give it another chance after the refurb! What a difference! We have been in a number of times and the staff are fabulous! New manager great and very hospitable! Ordered a gin with apple and they ran round to the shop to pick up an apple... More

After a 3 week closure the Salar has rebranded as HQ reinventing itself as a trendy Americana burger joint. The food was mediocre. Drinks expensive (£4 pint of IPA). Decor uncomfortable (school chairs). The new style of wooden floors, rough and readt tables and no soft furnishing looks ok but makes it very noisy even when only a few tables... More

This is our favourite place to brunch in Lymm, due to the brunch menu. It's reasonably priced and service is good. However, the decor is extremely tired and dated. I believe it's closed for a refurb; thank goodness!

We'd missed out on lunch so stopped here for a quick snack. The place was almost empty but that's due to the time of day. Service was prompt and courteous and the place was clean and tidy. We ordered a daily special of tomato pepper soup and half BLT each. The soup while very spicy was quite delicious and warming... More

Considering its in the centre of Lymm you would expect a higher standard. Espiecally when the drinks are somewhat expensive. You could argue that these prices were set when opened however, the venue is tired, chipped paintwork ripped upholstery. This place screams to be refurbished and the prices of drinks reduced. It does serve food that looked very nice. Not... More

I have been to Cafe Salar a few times now for different things. It strikes me more as a trendy bar that does food to make it more profitable. Nothing wrong with Cafe Salar, but in the 4 times I have been, service has always been borderline strange and the food, though tasty is definitely just a draw line to... More

Nice to sit on the terrace at the front on a sunny day. There is a decent range of drinks available within the usual cafe/wine bar kind of range - there is food available too but we didn't eat so can't comment on that.
