Went for evening meal about 7pm.they open at 5pm.not shown to a table.seemed as if no one knew whose job was whose.almost as if they had just taken over the place.Went up to bar after about 10min to ask if needs to order food there.was...told I could if I wanted.Ordered prawn cocktail.which was presented sixties style.it was made with prawns that had just been defrosted in water.they had no flavour.the Marie sauce was the only flavour to that dish. Then we had the cod with garlic mash and green beans.the cod was ok but small piece.the beans were flavourlrss and tinned.tossed in a little butter would of made them taste and look better. The decor was very English.not what you expect to see in the countryside.and the menu was only written in English.
Things became explosive when someone who had been waiting at the bar for takeaway pizzas stormed back in swearing and shouting about the f...... crap pizzas. Demanding his money back.Thst was the cherry on the icing.and we left.More
This restaurant looks very simple at first sight. But the food was very well prepared. They are very good in stone pizza's and they are delicious. I was here with my wife and youngest daughter and recommend this place. Very good price - quality ratio.
If you're in the area touring or playing golf, this little place is an absolute must. Food is excellent and super value and it's made even better by the really good friendly service. Probably one of the best kept secrets of the area. Really relaxing
This certainly is a little bit of England in rural France with a variety of drinks and food. Closest French equivalent is a brasserie, with an informal bar area, plus outside pub style seating and a room dedicated to more of a restaurant approach.
But...if you're expecting French atmosphere with French food etc.. you will be disappointed. On the other hand if you want a full English breakfast, delicious pizza, a snack or a meal, plus British/Irish beer without any language barriers then you'll be in your element, especially as it's open early and closes late 7 days a week. There's also an outside disco/entertainment on a Saturday during high season.
Highly recommended to complement the boulangerie and visits to other restaurants, and is especially convenient - easy walking distance - if you are staying at Les Forges.More
