Best meal I had in Newfoundland. Fresh, delicious, lovely flavours. Highly recommend if you are in Fogo or make it a destination! Wonderful staff, really nice interior in the renovated Fogo fire hall.

Was a bit sceptical at first, im a simple gal lol but myself and my friends ate lunch here and it was DELICIOUS, I had the bangbelly burger with homemade fries and coleslaw, great food, friendly staff, clean and we all left with a full...belly of great food, the fish n chips was great aswell, will certainly return there when visiting fogo againMore
Thank you for the kind words Cindy, we are so happy you enjoyed your meal. Hope to see you again soon
Say hi to Sandy when you make reservations. There is a reason they are required. The food is that good. Although the menu a prix fixe is cher, it is totally worth every dollar. Each course was delicious. We left full and looking forward to...lighter fare the next meal just to see if it would be as delightful. It was. Not to be missed on a trip to the Island.More
Dear Glen, Thank you for your kind review! We're thrilled that you had a delicious meal and enjoyed our prix fixe menu. We appreciate your recommendation and can't wait to welcome you back on your next trip to the Island. Best regards, Ian
We waited for 1 hour 20 minutes, and our meal never came...Others who came after us, were served before us. Worst service I have ever experienced. Air conditioning was not working and the restaurant was piping hot to top it off.More

Awful. Ridiculously overpriced and food mediocre at best. Chick on a skewer over Cohen and dry. Garlic parmesan fries missing garlic and parmesan. Miniscule portions. Ridiculous $19 for a glass of wine. Would not recommend.More

Hands down the best meal we ate in NL, and the staff was so friendly and attentive as well. We tried the corn chowder shots—and this vegetable hater loved them. We both had cod—fried and baked, both delicious. Finished it off with 2 delectable desserts—it’s...rare I find a lemon dessert that’s tart enough for me but they did it! And we only had to walk a few feet to get there, so my only regret is we didn’t stay longer to go again!More
So good! This was a pleasant surprise, given the few restaurants on Fogo Island. This could be a restaurant in an urban city anywhere. The interior is very trendy, down to the brown paper on the tables, industrial lighting fixtures, and varied tables/chairs/dishes. The presentation...of the meal was beautiful. We started with a complimentary and very tasty shotglass-size chowder. All three of us had delicious ribs. The waitress was very accommodating in checking on the ingredients of the mashed potatoes for our companion who is dairy-free and made a substitution. Overall, a great, great meal and experience.!More
This place is excellent. They must have a chef because the presentation of the food on the plate was beautiful. I had the ribs, my husband had the breaded cod, and they were very tasty. The staff is friendly and the place is very clean....Great experience. I just wish they would offset their days off with the other restaurants so there would be a place to eat.More
We heard this restaurant was good. We stopped in about 3:00 PM and asked if we could have their seafood chowder to take out, even though it is not on the take out menu. The kitchen staff made it happen! And i can say it...was the best seafood chowder we have had in Newfoundland. So flavourful, lots of fish. Cost is reasonable. Other offerings are healthy and creative, beautifully presented and reasonably priced.More
Excellent restaurant, very friendly and service was excellent. Wife had fish and chips and it was one of the best with local fish. I had the homemade burgers with coleslaw and it was dynamite. Good selection of Local beers. Decor was tastefully done. Great job
Producing an excellent meal in Fogo Island takes perseverance, innovation, and drive, but fortunately, Bangbelly has addressed all three of these variables. Amazingly. We had the cod fritters, charred vegetable pizza, and the star of the evening, the roasted cauliflower on a bed of beet...hummus. All fresh and delicious and worthy of inclusion in a high end restaurant menu anywhere in the world. We finished the meal with the best coffee we've had in Newfoundland. Service was professional, attentive and amiable. Bangbelly is the complete package. Go here!More
The service and wait staff were friendly and accommodating. The food was good and the choice of coffees was impressive.
Fabulous dinner! Lots of items to choose from and we were super happy with our selections. Upscale with many unique dishes. Casual atmosphere and decor. The best place we ate while in Newfoundland!
Looking for a good lunch on Fogo Island after we got off the ferry. Our innkeeper recommended Bang Belly, and she was spot on. Very friendly and attentive servers who cleared us a table right away. Started with a smooth cup of coffee. We both...had cod and corn chowder to start - chock full of large pieces of cod with a creamy broth and lots of vegetables. I had a fried cod sandwich, done perfectly on a really wonderful bun and a Caesar salad side. My wife had cold water shrimp salad sandwich and garden salad - she loved it. We were too full for dessert, but got homemade cookies to go.More
I ordered a GF pizza to go. Crispy vegetables! Perfection! I loved the Crispy kale and the crunch of the other vegetables. Everyone else who ate inside the restaurant loved there meals as well. Reservation are recommended and necessary in the high season.
