On holiday for a week staying in a cottage in Pickering with our dog Lucy. Having experienced The Moors Inn at our previous trip "up north" we chose to spend 5 of our 6 evenings there, enjoying truly excellent food alongside a very friendly atmosphere. We were always made most welcome (Lucy included) by staff and locals alike. We can... More

We stayed for four nights, with our dog. Very clean room and nice bed linen, tv, hairdryer, tea and coffee, biscuits and water replaced every day! Clean, tidy bathroom, with a shower cubicle. The only negative with the room was that it was quite small, but fine for just four nights. Breakfast was great, nothing was too much trouble and... More

A chance recommendation led us to the Moors. Ambience, service, food and drink were excellent. Must be one of the best pubs in Yorkshire.

I was with my wife when she booked the meal two days before over the phone. After about 5 minutes, stood like lemons at the bar, our existence was finally acknowledged the barman face semi gave it away when we advised him we had a table booked. As he looked through the book he was joined by senior staff member,... More

Stayed here for one night whilst out walking on the north Yorkshire Moors. Lovely quiet village location, really friendly staff and really good food, above your normal pub food. Charming bar with real fires. Nice local ales

Encouragingly Saturday lunchtime was busy in the pub and the restaurant service was attentive and friendly. The restaurant is very comfortable and has a decent choice of good value wines. The freshly cooked homely food was served with some style. The portions were generous and our vegetarian friend was well served. The cheese course is very generous portion. A couple... More

Called in on a windy Thursday and enjoyed a three course Winter Special. There was plenty of food, well made with fantastic service. The pub is very popular, not surprising really. We will visit again later in the year

The Moors Inn looks like a pub should, it's cosy & rustic with a roaring fire & warm, down to earth welcome. There are a couple of eating rooms plus the bar where we dined, all areas are nice but here is a particularly lovely spot for soaking up the atmosphere & engaging with local drinkers. The menu is varied... More
